I can only wonder why Pheles didn't yank the Reiji Maigo out of Yuji upon their first encounter and only circle strafed Yuji in the OP.

maybe cause um, johan don't have a body? and maybe she can make Johan become the new host of yuji's body? I dunno just a theory

I read some post in this forum that the real person behind the bird maskot would appear in Episode 10. Since the only person newly appeared in this epiosde is Kantaro, I assume that he is the maskot. But, I could be wrong.

Another thing, at about 6.53 minutes of the episode, Ike seems to pause for a while and looks at Kazumi writing down some notes. Why did he pause for a while?

For me, I will rather say that by having Reiji Maigo, Yuji is blessed and cursed. Blessed: He can continue to live on unlike other torches. Cursed: He is being dragged into danger because of Reiji maigo.
