It looks like something very bad has happened... http://www.scarywater.net/ has been replaced with a blank page.
So many s :\Props to Seichi for using an alternative tracker.

I get this message. Is it attacked or something?
Moya, Mother of Talan. Since I have found this host listed in the DShield Database being reported as an attacker machine, here is a clarification : This host never connects to hosts that did not connect to here first. If you are seeing connections on ports 6881-6889, you (or one of your users) are very likely running BitTorrent; whenever a connection is made to this server from BitTorrent, it will check back to prevent abuse. If you don't want that happening, don't use BitTorrent. Edit: no wait, http://a.scarywater.net is the correct address, not http://www.scarywater.net/. |

Hmmm....... lookin that way again
I'm not intirely sure, but it looks like scarywater is going down again.....
we don't have the yellow triangles yet, but nobody seems to be downloading/uploading. also, the dl i have for You're Under Arrest 2 (on scarywater) is not doing anything. Edit: we now have yellow triangles......... i guese its down now. hope they get it back up soon; I only had one meg left on my dl. Edit2: It seems as thought it is back up. Mind you i am thinking this because my dl started to wark again; not because of animesuki.

some research, scarywater.net is hosted on the rackshack/ev1 network. I currently have a server on that network and scarywater.net is UP and running, I can connect to it from my server (tracker and webpages) so i did some testing
standard traceroutes This is a traceroute of one IP higher than scarywater.net Code:
C:\>tracert 207.44.232.39 Tracing route to plain.agriya.com [207.44.232.39] over a maximum of 30 hops: 9 51 ms 52 ms 51 ms dist-01-so-0-0-0-0.hsto.twtelecom.net [168.215.53.62] 10 50 ms 47 ms 46 ms 168.215.172.45 11 42 ms 44 ms 44 ms 216.54.253.2 12 48 ms 46 ms 44 ms ivhou-207-218-245-45.ev1.net [207.218.245.45] Code:
C:\>tracert 207.44.232.37 Tracing route to toronto2.azu.com [207.44.232.37] over a maximum of 30 hops: 9 49 ms 49 ms 50 ms dist-01-so-0-0-0-0.hsto.twtelecom.net [168.215.53.62] 10 72 ms 48 ms 50 ms 168.215.172.45 11 43 ms 43 ms 42 ms 216.54.253.2 12 49 ms 46 ms 44 ms ivhou-207-218-245-45.ev1.net [207.218.245.45] Code:
9 52 ms 51 ms 61 ms dist-01-so-0-0-0-0.hsto.twtelecom.net [168.215.53.62] 10 47 ms 47 ms 46 ms 168.215.172.45 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 * * * Request timed out. the problem seems to be either 168.215.172.45 blocking outgoing traffic to that IP address or 216.54.253.2 blocking incoming traffic to that IP 168.215.172.45 is owned by TIME WARNER TELECOM 216.54.253.2 is owned by FORT BEND TELEPHONE |

true but then the problem would between 216.54.253.2 and 207.218.245.45 not 216.54.253.2 and 168.215.172.45 which is a link EV1 servers cannot control |

Having problems with Scarywater torrents
This is the third day that I'm having a hell of a time with torrents using Scarywater's tracker. Up to now, everything was fine, and suddenly, connecting with other peers was extremely slow and only to a handful. Status pages and TorrentSpy report tens of peers and seeders, yet I can only connect to maybe 5 or 10, very slowly, no matter how many hours I leave it.
Torrents using other trackers work as good as usual. My PC is directly connected to my cable modem, no router, no proxy or firewall (yes, I'm that crazy). My client is Shadow.5.8.7 and the torrent health icon is usually green (when I do get to see a seed), or blue, but never yellow (which indicates a NAT/Router problem). It spends a lot of time (10-30min) in red, trying to connect to somebody. I just installed the latest Azureus, and things are a little better, I can see a few more peers. Interestingly, sometimes the torrent health status turns yellow at the start (again, NAT/Router problem according to the help). I don't think it's my connection or my client, so it should be a Scarywater's tracker issue, but the status pages show lots of peers as usual. Am I alone with this problem? Please help me somebody, I'm on the verge of suicide ;_;

Interesting fact. I use 3 bittorrent clients: newest ABC 2.6.3., newest TorrentStorm and Azureus. Tried to download PMK ep.20. (scarywater tracker). It has 879 seeds and 779 peers just right now. Quite a lot, I tell you. Tried first to download with ABC. I could connect only with 1 seed and could download zero. Waited 10 min. Switched to Azureus. Almost instanly (20 s) conected to 30 seeds and 15 peers and in 5 min my download speed skyrocketed to the max. Strange.

Serious problems with Scarywater Tracker !
Dear everybody,
I've been using Animesuki to download Anime for almost a year. Until know everything was fine, but since I bought a router I've serious problems with torrents placed on the Scarywater Tracker concerning NAT. Well, I'm using Azureus 2.0.8.4, I'm connected to the Internet over ADSL (ISP is Arcor for the Germans here ) with some kind of Netgear router and my OS is Windows XP (Firewall disabled). Since Azureus uses only one port, I only forwardet port 6881 (and yes, I checked my Azureus settings regarding the Port). So far my Bittorrent works fine, except with Torrents hosted on Scarywater (and it's really just on Scarywater). Somehow, my status keeps being yellow, wich means that there must be some sort of NAT problem. Well, I've already tried everything, wich came to my mind. Since almost all torrents on Animesuki are hostet at Scarywater this situation is kinda worse. So I would appreciate all kind proposals ![]() And NO, I'm not some kind of BT Noob, who is to dumb to configure his router properly to forward a Port !!! And if you think, that it's impossible, that this issue can only remain on Scarywater, I didn't believe it at the beginning too, but I'm absolutely sure about it now !!! Thanks to everybody, who took time to read my problem ! Greets Samir

All I can suggest is keep trying. A torrent I was trying earlier eventually connected and I'm able to download but I suspect it was just because I was lucky. Other than that, we can only wait. |
