My Hime Promo SOUND???

where's the sound? does it use a diffrent type than what's normal or that AC3 stuff i installed a few weeks ago?

I suggest you have a read of the stickies in this forum

Try using just the ffdshow codec, uninstall all the others and just install ffdshow-20030523.exe

I had no problems with the My Hime promo using just ffdshow.

Hoho, I'm talking rubbish If I use MPC or WMP, I also get no sound but there's no problem if I use the DivX Player. Hmmmmm

A number of people have noticed this problem (from the My Hime thread in the Fansubs forum)

I just tried this torrent and found the following (concerning the sound). I have the ffdshow codec installed only (ffdshow-20030523.exe ).

Media Player Classic (6.4.7.8)
No sound until I 'Increase Rate' (>> Ctrl Up) and then 'Decrease Rate' (<< Ctrl Down)

Windows Meadia Player (8.0)
No sound

DivX Player (2.5.2)
No problems, plays sound fine

Media Player Classic (6.4.8.0)
No problem with sound! Plays perfectly!

The Core Media Player 4.0 (RC4 test build 3/11/04)
No sound until I use the seek bar. Clicking anywhere on the seek bar (including the beginning of the clip) will activate the sound.

Windows Media Player 9.0
Same as The Core Media Player

BSPlayer 1.0 (RC1 Build 807)
Same.

using MP9 and just Koepi's (http://www.roeder.goe.net/~koepi/) latest then it plays but it tells me it couldn't find the codec but it still plays with sound but there's a big ! in the fire name, i tend tested this with some of my other ones, they work but some of them in the same way, maybe i need a reboot but it seems it's fixed for me.

then i go back and try to play some other subs and discover they nolonger work. it seems FFDSHOW has issues with my WIN98 SE so i'm using koepi's xvid and the 3ivx that i saw and it seems that all my subs are working again.
