When ever I play a non-4:3 Video (Galaxy Railways, or Yumeria) MPC (6.4.7.3) likes to add black bars to the top and bottom. To fix this I just right click and go View>Pan&scan>Zoom to widescreen.

Does anyone know why MPC adds the black bars in the first place, and how I can prevent it from happening again? (I don't recall it happening in the older versions.)

This is in windowed mode, correct? You could try a newer version of the player. http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/
