cannot see subtitles when watching fansubs

well apperently this problem has occured sometimes before, mainly with mkv formatted videos and lately with Spoonsubs subbing of the Hidamari Sketch specials. despite all these years of watching fansubs, it seems that some things like this happen to elude me. and before you ask, I am using CCCP though I don't know if there's something wrong with the videos, or with the media playback programs like VLC or Mplayer, help with this will be greatly appreciated

CCCP should be used with one of the players that come with it. VLC and MPlayer use their own internal filters.

If it doesn't work with MPC, then please get the Insurgent and go under Tools, Test Render, choose the file that you re having problems with and post the log here please.

alright... got the subs working though now the problem lies in the video data showing up in the upper left corner, which I don't want to see since it blocks the view, apparently only on my main computer and not on my sister's laptop, and I can't take a screen shot of it since videos tend to black out while being screenshoted. though this happens with both MPC and zoomplayer so i suspect it has to do with CCCP

To get rid of the data go to CCCP settings, 2nd page. Check reset settings there and apply.

For screenshots see this.
