Video Media Players

I've been watching anime recently on divx with ffdshow, nimos codec pack, and tsunami filter pack, but I have problems playing the video of some files. People have told me that divx player sucks and have recommended bsplayer, light alloy, and mplayer. Can anyone here recommend me a good player and a description of why it's good if you want.

There are plenty of other threads that discuss this issue. I would recommend What is your favorite video player?
