Pioneer got their grubby hands on the New Jungle Taitei (aka Kimbe the white lion) and heavily edited the first 15 episodes before moving on to something else. I loved the series, but I wish they would either finish it or at least release a subbed only version. This was in 1999. I wonder if their rights have been expired? I wish someone would come out with a fansub of it if it has!

You can watch most of the episodes in japanese, unsubbed on youtube (Jungle emperor 1989) And all 13 episodes of the english version.

Well, I was wondering if there was anyway I can obtain these on dvd or download them. I've been looking around for a long time, but I haven't had any luck.

On yesasia they have a box set that looks like it, but it turns out it is the second season of the older series (Onward leo!). The series I am looking for came out in 1989.

If anyone can help me, that would be great!
