Accidently watched Higurashi no Naku Koroni Kai first, too late for the first season?

I accidently watched Higurashi no Naku Koroni Kai without seeing Higurashi no Naku Koroni. Would it make sense to go back and watch that one now?

Though the experience of the first season will be dampened greatly, there is nothing wrong not to watch the first season. You might figure too much about the points shrouded by the mysteries, but it would pretty give you the sense and knowledge to "why" it is happening in the second season.

You'll miss the mind #%@ factor, but I'd watch it anyway.
I'm curious to know what you think of it.

I'd still watch it, without a doubt. It might not be as great it could have been, but I don't think you'll be bored at all if you enjoyed the second season.

Actually there are a lot of people who this has happened too.. i dont mean to be a kill-joy but the experience will not be the same (apparently). however.. youd probably regret it more if you didnt see it. for example, no matter how many times i watch meakashi-hen i simply love it.

That's only the case if you watch Higurashi for the horror, violence and the gore though.
