Apparently the designers of Frontier's interior design copied more than San Fransico.

I thought the VF was a new weapon made for fighting giant aliens though. How come there's one ten years before there should have been?

Actually, both the pictures of the Valkyries are from episode 10. If you watch the eyecatch closely, you'll see that the first picture is followed by a scene clapper, and then the second picture with the camera crew. This is just an example of the Frontier creative staff being clever and having a lot of fun .

1999 - Alien Spaceship crashes on South Ataria Island.
2008 - events of Macross Zero.
2009 - the Zentradi attack.

The VF-0 was the earliest UN variable fighter design, so there's no contradiction.

The SDF-MACROSS crash-landed on Earth in 1999. That is when humans discovered that a race of giants existed. Yet, over the next ten years, as if attempting to reverse-engineer the SDF-Macross wasn't enough, another alien ship, the (terribly abbreviated) ASS-1 begin to 'respond'. This led to an even more frenzied pursuit of alien technology by the divided human factions at the time, which led to a war.

I think.. genderbending >>> crossdressing because it plays with what if scenario, they just swap gender and girls will still wear girls clothing.. Its crossdressing where guys wearing girl's cloth is what troubling me the most.

Lol, I don't like guys crossdressing either, but when I see stuff like... Alto with (giga) boobs (not to mention...in a bikini!!!) I go Especially when there are some very disturbing doujins/fanfics with gender bending crap (I do not know what the Japanese fangirls are thinking. They are going waaay overboard). I can't stand them, can't stand them at all. Worse, I've seen some semi-gender-bended girls. God, my eyes, my EYES. Nightmares. Why would guys like that? Some sort of "acquired taste"? Innocent Yuri is much better. In fact I won't be surprised if Alto will end up being gay and Sheryl and Ranka hook up instead. That would be interesting.

Anyways...Crossdressing for are 90% for comical reasons. Just to...humiliate the guy forced into dressing in girl clothes, you get what I mean? Or to crack people up because it's just soooo ugly (i.e. Disney's Mulan trio of...interestingly proportioned males.)
Also, guys have always sort of crossdressed in the past anyway, i.e. Shakespearian plays, Kabuki, etc. They also wore skirts. Thus, crossdressing is obviously no big deal for me, unless the guy who's crossdressing is super-macho. Then that will disturb even me.

Don't even talk about it. But I think most male crossdressers in the real world (except in Thailand where guys are no longer guys anyway) are manly guys in laces. Weird hobbies. I think a woman's body is much more...interesting to display. But with proper proportions, of course. Meaning no impossibly large breasts. And they seem to dominate this thread. Speaking of crossdressers though, a lot of girls look better than guys when they crossdress, lol.

Alas, I see a lot of interesting fanart out there (an omake for the OP) but I'll feel guilty if I post them here The Japanese fanartists (at least the girls) don't like people displaying their work without permission, and they never give people permission even if I ask politely through e-mail T^T
