i cant wait for tonight. i got a day off today to go to the high school graduation then off to gamestop to pick up mgs4. i watch all the youtube videos of mgs series. now im prepare to play one of the epic game of the year.

I did the exact calculations before I knew I was getting this deal.

Though it sucks that I can't play it till the 20th since I promised I wouldn't because of my exams.

If you're a fan of the series, then you'd understand that part of what makes the series great is the cutscenes. Even today, I still haven't seen an ending that could top the ending of MGS3. A pity that MGS3 sold less than its predecessor.

Yeah shame that happened. MGS3 was much better then MGS2, did not like the over done confusing plot MGS2 had towards the 2nd half something about computers controlling the world or something... And the fact you had to play as some emo albino character didn't help either, people wanted to play as Snake not that emo albino punk.

A lot of people were kinda burned by MGS2 that they didn't bother getting MGS3 including me which is why it sold much less then MGS2 did but thankfully my friend a few years after MGS3 came out convinced me to get the game, damn the game is awesome the plot is also great. MGS3 was alot more like MGS1 unlike MGS2 was.

Hoping that MGS4 doesn't over do the story like MGS2 did keep it like MGS1/MGS3 is then it's all good.

Metal Gear Solid 2 did actually have alot of confusing things going on but it was the foreshadowing and the game that set the stage for the culmination that will occur in Metal Gear Solid 4, so it doesn't really bother me. I had the pre-order for the regular version but I'm actually going to change it over to the Special Edition, it just feels more fitting.

Well, to be fair I think Kojima really tried to make Raiden a more legitimate character in MGS4. And it seems to go well coming from the events of MGS2 (i.e., receiving the sword and becoming the ninja after Olga...)

In MGS2 he was a hated substitute that made the player want to play as Snake more, and in MGS3 plot-related referential jokes were being made about him. Now at least, maybe in MGS4 he can stand in equal footing with the other supporting characters.
