What a retarded first post

but I need help.

My torrent downloads are going ungodly slow, and I know I have to open my ports, but I've been trying for 2 days now, and I still have no idea how.

Can someone help me open ports with a Linksys firewall?

Edit: God, now I'm uploading at like 15 and still downloading like 6

Assuming you are using Shadow's Clients(Bittornado or the Stable one) Well go to your bittorrent, go to prefs, then there should be a category that says port range. the numbers should be from 6881-6889. I dunno if this helps, but if not, look at the first three sticky topics.

you should check your users manual for instructions. if you don't have it you can go to their homepage and type in the model number and read it online.

My friend has a linksys router and he had to enter in a address in internet exploer, something like 123.21.1651 and it took him to his settings page. from there you can adjust the ports. I would give you more detail but that's about as much as I know. Hope it helps.

Based on your comment about uploading, try using a BitTorrent client in which you can
limit your upload a bit. Then turn that upload limit down to 12 Kb, 10 Kb or 8 Kb until you
notice a difference in your download speed (assuming your maximum upload speed is 15 Kb).
