Tales of Hearts Game Discussion

Some more tidbits from the conference.

- Mothership titles will be on the Wii, if I didn't understand it incorrectly.

- Nakahara Mai (Estelle, Vesperia) has been playing Tales game since she was a high school student.

- 2008 winter, Tales of Heart. Production I.G for anime movie, Shirogumi for full 3D movie. You can either pick to play which movie, or it's gonna be two games, one with anime and the other with the 3D.
- Battle system "Combination Aerial LMBS", if you meet certain condition(s), characters that aren't in the battle can join in too.
- Theme song by DEEN. Title "Towa no Ashita" or "Eien no Asu" or change the words around between those. Not sure without kana.

- Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology will probably be out around March, 2009.
- Will probably be using the same system (as the base, anyways) as the previous title.
- 50 Tales characters in this one.
- New jobs introduced, which includes a class that can dual wield. In-game movie. Powered up hi-ougi.
- Theme song by rock band "BACK-ON". Apparently the 5 members of that band are all Tales fans. *fangirl squeal*

- Tales of the Abyss anime, October, 2008.
- Currently, the anime's planned upto 26 episodes.

The on-field stuff still look pretty unimpressive, but still waiting for the OP. If it has a good OP (like Innocence), then I'll probably buy it.

...That's not really a good way to buy a game. ^^;

I personally find the story a bit similar to Ar tonelico, so that kinda picked up my interest. That and 2D! Finally a break from all the 3D Tales games! Been waiting for a 2D one since forever. (No, don't like Destiny. Period.)

Yeah, I know, but it works as a motivation to buy the game (kind of like, one more push). Of course, even if the OP is good, if the game isn't interesting or too short, I wouldn't buy it (like Time Hollow, which while having good animation, the game itself is apparently short).
Tales of Symphonia and Innocence were pretty good, so I expect Hearts to be good too. Mah, following a lot of Tales games, there will probably be some type of discrimination in the plot...

I expect Tales of Hearts doing better than Innocence, since that title was outsourced to alfa system. From the credits of the PV, it looks like that this one is being developed in house by tales studio.

Honestly, Tales of Heart's battle and graphics system going back to 2d/3d style(which they used for Destiny Remake, BTW) might be a step in the right direction, plus it gives them a chance to play with more possibilities for the battle system.

Yea, that game was short. It was not bad for a game (interesting story, IMO), but the length could use some work. (Or give us an extra episode or something after we clear the game. = = )

+traitor. Can't remember if the older games are like this too, but all the recent games all have one or more traitor plots during the story. Hearts will probably have one too. Wonder who's gonna betray the group for this game.

You might like to try a game called Lux-Pain, its for DS and similar type of adventure game as Time Hollow but its quite abit longer. I actually prefer Lux-Pain abit more, too bad it went abit under the radar I thought it was better made.

If you preorder it, you get different bonus goodies. BTW, Tales of Hearts will have a list price of ￥ 6,650, making it probably the most expensive NDS title to date.
