As far as I can make out...

Spoiler for ch. 214:

Asuna and Setsuna see Negi from a distance, realise something's wrong and arrive to back him up as he confronts Fate, who indicates that he came to talk, not fight. In the interests of avoiding collateral damage to the festival crowd, Negi agrees and they sit down over tea (although Asuna and Setsuna decide to remain standing).

Fate offers not to interfere with Negi and the others go back home, and even escort them there... but he wants Asuna in return (referring to her as "the princess", which Chisame, listening into the conversation, notices and wonders about). Negi refuses instantly, but Fate goes on to suggest that it's not such a bad deal because nobody in the other world will be inconvenienced if Asuna's gone, and her eight years at Mahora have basically been a fake life, with fake memories and a fake personality. (Asuna and Setsuna are both listening to this; Asuna doesn't know what to make of it, while Setsuna is looking over at Asuna.)

Negi reacts pretty badly, and the chapter ends with Fate catching a punch aimed at his head and Negi telling him to shut his mouth.

Badly? Or... awesomely? Fate had it coming, and the way Negi sent the table sky high with his knee was pretty cool.

Also enjoyed the srsbsns tea vs coffee confrontation. You do NOT diss Negi's tea.

With Fate being an ass and hounding Negi as to why he's so riled up about seeing Fate... maybe, instead of talking about "you're a member of Teh Enemy!", Negi could have reminded Fate: "Dude, you impaled me with a stone spike. I'm still kinda touchy about that."

Also, need more flying-chibi-Sayo. I don't need any reason, just give me more.

After chap 222, I now know what's been missing in this series for me; A villian like Fate

I don't think I could've done a better job rattling Negi's cage like that if I were there myself He was in complete control of the whole situation. Whether a not this meeting is part of his 'master plan' or just another distraction remains to be seen though...

Hey how come Fate can still block Negi's punch so easily and the tea vs Cofee battle waas intense lol......Negi finally cleared up the Asuna matter.....he finallly admitted he only sees her as a cool older sister......too bad I was soo badly rooting for those 2

I was pretty damn sure they were not going to be together from all the moments of them being compared too as a brother and sister. Asuna is very protective of Negi like a sister and doesn't seem to act like somewhat of a lover. I mean they could still end up together(I hope not though), but that would kind of make no sense due too previous hints and actions from both Asuna and Negi. I personally never saw a huge "clue" pointing to Asuna being in love with Negi. I mean almost all the girls admire him to some extent, but not all of them are in love with him.

U r right in saying there were no big hints but..........its just that Asuna always gets so flusterd when anyone mentions she likes Neji........and during the time Neji askd her to go with him to wales she went all red and startd mumbling ........and u know in Nejis case at the library baths he was peeking and when Asuna fell over him ...he went all doki doki....kept asking himself what that feeling was....small things like that...well I just don't want it to be over this quick lol...

You're right about those moments but there have plenty of moments similer to those happening with the other girls. I chuck it all up to comedic effect. Thats how I see it anyways.
