How about an AK -47 . Using a spear is way outdated . I'd rather have a tank / ak-47 than a magical spear.

Nope.
In 2-3 months, I'm guessing. For me, 3-4 months would be nice.

hey seeing the latest episode does this mean the tabitha arc is about to start? where do u guys expect it to end now? still in the tabitha arc or somewhere else? and im sure there will be a battle so in the novel which battle was fought that would make sense to end the series?

It's supposed to start...

Don't know...

It would make sense to end the series with Saito and co. saving Tabitha after the battle against the elf, but we still have half the series to go... The worst possibility would be if J.C. Staff decides to animate vol.13-14 and rush through it in 2-3 episodes............

this whole series is insanely rushed.

i think that it would be much more enjoyable as an anime if

1) they stuck to the novel storyline religiously

2) they were better at pacing

Yay, finished chapter 6, despite all of my health problems lately. Now combined with Serenades translation we only have two chapters left in volume 6, one of which is currently being translated by Momogan.

I think nobody will be able to tell you if there will be a 4th season.. since even the trird is still not finshed.. they've got still quite a few novels to getinfo for.. but if wetake into consideration that anime doesn't follow the novels very tightly.. they could make quite a few more seasons ^_^

Nemo, as I understood momogan will start translating only in the end of august/beginning of september. Is that correct? so the 5th ch will be left blank for now?

Yeah... But again the 5th chapter is considered to be a side chapter mostly as it focuses on Agnes... The real plot ends one chapter 4 and starts on chapter 6 again.

Chapter 1 of Vol. 7 is done. Proof reading needed. Sweet chapter for Saito and Louise.

a sweet chapter for them indeed. Yamaguchi Noboru really takes his time to "draw" complex and well-defined characters, all their actions and words fit into the personalities he designed for them, and then takes his time to explain the reasons and motives why his characters behave that way. the anime-creators should take his example. what a difference between the lightminded Saito and volatile Louise from anime and the ones from the novels.

I would say that if all the details from the novels were included in the anime, we'll probably still be in season 1, assuming that past chapters were as good as this one (if not better).

When it comes to light novel-to-anime series, all I expect is a good summary, ala Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu. Any more, and the animation budget will probably explode.

Truth be told, some of the details are excessive. I'll rather have drama CDs.

well in that case i rather have them as novels, at leased my imagination can run wild without fear of budget concerns.

Concerning novel -> anime adaptations

The narrative and inner dialogue that creates the depth of the plot and characters is an element that simply does not lend itself to animation. It takes a profound understanding of the characters (like Heath Ledger's Joker!) to communicate these intricacies without the explicit portrayals the written word can give.

Animation, however, isn't necessarily inferior. If done well (nice soundtrack, voice actors, etc. [I can dream!]), this medium offers the opportunity for expansion. I, for one, was particularly looking forward to the animation of the scene at the end of Volume 7 (I was stupid, I know). What a shame then, that instead of expanding on this fantastic series, instead of allowing us to spend time with characters we have come to know and like (except Henrietta for a lot of you :p), instead they chose to make the travesty that is the ZnT anime.
