Want an anime with...

The main character is very good at something, any everyone around him/her are ignorant to his/her talent at first.(I would like it if they do find out though!)

Some examples could be:

Initial D
Akagi
Hikaru no Go(even though it was Sai calling the shots at first)
Full Metal Panic(in the sense that everyone thought he was just a fanboy)
Hajime no Ippo(in a way i guess)
Eyeshield 21

Here is a list of what I have seen. If you want to check if I have already seen something you are about to recommend just go here and CTRL+F and search for the name to see if its on that list since its a bit lengthy.

Also something similar but slightly different you could recommend would be something like...

Main character is slightly outcast from the rest of his peers. Is either considered geeky/nerdy/etc or is just not social but has some type of great ability or talent that gets him noticed afterwards. Could also be someone who everyone thinks is really weak but is actually very strong/good fighter/etc, or at least becomes one(if could find this one would love it).

Genre doesn't really matter in either of these as long as it fits the criteria at least somewhat.

Edit: Manga would be fine to, but I feel like watching something.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Nobody knew it was Simon who pushes on, never giving up, always bringing everyone back from hell. Nobody knew he was the drill that can pierce the heavens, but his brother, Kamina believed in him from the start.

Watch Yakitate Japan. The main character is the best at baking bread.

I hated Tengen for some reason.

And I will look into Yakitate Japan I guess, sounds...different.

Any others?

Angelic Layer - don't dismiss this as a kiddy anime, the animated fighting dolls are wonderfully done, plus Misaki is a genius in that game

OverDrive - Shinozaki starts out as a loser boy but displays remarkable talent in cycling

Beck - in a way...i guess, good character development

Shounen Onmyoji - Masahiro started out rather weak since people kept comparing him to his famous grandfather, but later on turns out very strong

Thanks. Haven't heard of Shounen Onmyoji before but it looks good. Also forgot about overdrive.

Keep them coming if anyone has any!

Watched over drive and it was pretty good, would have liked it more if it was longer or didn't concentrate on only one race, but was still pretty good. Any more? Going to check out some of the others as well.
