That's the point of R2, especially the latter half. While Suzaku is going from self-sacrificial altruist to hardcore schemer, Lelouch has now shown a penchant to willingly lie to protect those he cares for (BK, especially Kallen). In short, Lelouch is now willing to sacrifice himself for others, while Suzaku has transpired down the path of the madmen. Hopefully this won't last long in the latter's case, but the way things are going it may be too late for Gino.

He got the UFN created which is democratic to some extent destroying Britannia will just make the world free(er). Ohgi is just turning the Black Knights into the Titans at this moment. Most of the Black Knights will most likely put Lelouch being a prince aside and look at the big picture.
