FUDGE NO, YOU ARE THE WORST ENDING EVER.

The Skullman ended on a pretty cool note, IMO. There were only two, "huh" moments - Kiriko's kid and that old p.i. getting iced. Everything else was awesome.

I'd love The Skullman to be a prologue to Cyborg 009 with Kagura Tasuo as the Black Ghost, but NOT as some lame-arse Star Wars rip-off. That plot twist was stupid and poorly written anyway, it's much more awesome for Joe and Tasuo to fight as equals without that ridiculous connection.

Plus, Joe's half-Japanese, while Kiriko and Hayato are both full. Nope, I refuse to believe BONES is seriously trying to take the retard's road when this story came out pretty good.

Despite some very nice animation and cool artistic design, this show really leaves me frustrated. xD

Open endings are one thing, but with so many unanswered questions floating around, it all seems a little rushed--even unfinished. Also, it's a strange choice of direction to build up so much characterization for Hayato, only then to make a complete 180 of his character in the final episode. Furthermore, the entire epilogue is one massive conundrum. The appearance of a baby? The transformation of the city into a militaristic state? Why kill the Private Inspector? A mission from the Black Phantasms?

It's a fairly good series, but it has so many loose ends that every time I watch it I can't help but feel frustrated.

Loved the ending, and I wouldn't mind if BONES is going for a remake of 009.

Quoting directly from the wiki since I'm too lazy to put it in my own words.

Spoiler for 009:

Spoiler for For Skullman:

Eitherway, loved the series and end.

Anybody got the names of the following?

Brain Gear Commander's sidekick? (fat guy with mustache and sometimes glasses)
Brain Gear Commander's secretary?

Skull Man's Sidekicks (Jackal and Cat morphs)

That Officer friend of that officer that transforms into a pointy reptile

You can't find some here (if you can read japanese) http://www.skullman.jp/character/

As thanks I will post artwork from my Skull Man artbook (I need the names for it). Some interesting things in there (like how SIRKS 03 full shot looks like, since his very short appeareance in the series).

If we are just looking at the show, it has some serious issues but over all was quite enjoyable.

Now the very end; if they are making some obscure Ishinomori kaiju/sentai reference then that sucks hard. Cause you really can't expect many people outside japan to even know what the hell Ishinomori worked on. It's too esoteric.

Well I finally been able to watch this series. I am impressed at it. Didn't knew that Cyborg 009 was from the same creator. Is there any relation to the Guyver?
Are all the Cyborg 009 series are licenses? how many of them are they?

Sentai Filmworks has announced that they have acquired The Skull Man series for release in February 2010.

And it looks like it will be a sub-only release.

Girl is (I think) Sara. Little guy is just called Professor. He is the one who created the cyborgs.

Tetsuoru is the guy, more of a doberman dog then a jackal. Rena is the girl. I think they are siblings, at least Rena's comment when he dies indicates this.

Shinjou only refers to him as 'Sempai'.
