I think you are stretching the definition of oxymoron a little too far.

Technically, we could move one of your posts into that area and then you could edit it.

The confusion comes from the way the forum's permissions have been configured (for simplicity of maintenance). Posting new threads is not permitted in any of the series discussion sections. To simplify this we apply the rule at the section level and inherit the property down into all the sub forums. You cannot post replies to existing threads in the section (where as you can in the actual sub forums) for a completely different reason: the section's sub forum is itself closed (the others are open). We use a sub forum rather than a category as the forum designers intended (which would not need to be closed to block all posting) because of page layout differences that we wanted to avoid.

So, permissions say you can post replies and edit existing posts, but not make new threads, where as the forum closure says you cannot post replies. The closure is not inherited, so you can post in sub forums but not the category forum. If we also blocked editing, we would have just undone all the simplification (because we would need to have different permissions on the sub forums or say you cannot edit posts there either).

Silly question - more geared towards the European posters:

Why do I never see the French on any type of forum/message board/online gaming/etc.

I understand that the types of message boards I use and the games that I play are in English and not French, but I always see many people from the UK (obvious), the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, and some from Spain, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc, that use those same mediums in English.

But, I never see anyone from France.

Do the French just choose to stay away from mediums in English? Or do they just not use the internet as frequently (or have as much access to it - i.e. infrastructure)? Or is it just me??

Like Cats, I also think it's you. I would suggest you read or post in the Where are you from... thread to get your answer.

Ah yeah, maybe it is just me.

I just never see them (people actually living in France, and not just from there) anywhere.

I'm playing a game MMO (Rose Online) where there's an entire French guild that communicates in French.
As far as MMOs go, it may be the time of day you're on. I tend to play in the early morning where I'm surrounded by people from Australia, Europe, and parts of Asia.

Yes it's exactly like Vexx said. Afternoon for you is already pretty much late into the night for the rest of us, and the middle of the day for us is when you're mostly sleeping or early morning. Sorry but you just can't beat the clock. Intuitivily you can think of it as being around a 8h to 10h difference.

I play WOW 6-10pm EST, and there's still &@$#%*& all the time ^^.

But entirely true. It will depend on when you are on. The animesuki forum runs on Greenwich time, GMT. And most likely users will mostly post from the time 5-10.

In several instances in the past, reporting it to the mods would be the right move.

The best thing would be to make use of the Report button and report a post made by one of the duplicate accounts (and it would help if you listed the other suspect accounts).

Edit: The one thing you should not do is call someone out if you suspect they have multiple accounts, that is, do not post your suspicions in a thread. Such comments would be off-topic to the thread and might just aggravate the issue. Plus, there is a chance a Mod might not even see your post, after all we don't read all the posts in all the threads.

Looks a bit like the font "Brooklyn" (might have been 'brooklyn something'), but I'd imagine that there are dozens of fonts that look like that out there. If you have a font manager you could rather quickly look over all of your fonts and find out. For Mac OS X I recommend Linotype Font Explorer (not sure if this is available for Windows yet); on Windows, "FontFrenzy" is rather good, if a little less intuitive. Both are free.

See here.

I suppose you're running some form of Linux or OS X, because I've never heard about SMplayer being ported to Windows...

BTW, with that I pointed out mplayer will render the ASS font chosen by the fansubbers and not a custom one.

Well, you should be able to add

Code:
ass=1
embeddedfonts=1
fontconfig=yes
correct-pts=1
to an .ini file or some other configuration file in mplayer's folder...

Anyway, the devilish font name is Rufa. My SMPlayer is still prefering that.. but thats a start... Appearently, the gg sub requested for a jambono-regular font (which I dont have) and end up using Rufa
@.@
