Has anyone seen any video corruption while watching gg's version? For example:

Coreavc seems to play it fine on my other Windows box, but even CCCP (2008-1-24 ffdshow) there shows similar results to the above MPlayer corruption. Same problems with latest VLC on Ubuntu as well. But, going over this thread which I found through Google: http://www.cccp-project.net/forums/i...p?topic=2890.0 ...Is it the encode, that changed, causing most non-coreavc decoders to just puke?

I wasn't the only one who noticed it too?

I just figured it was my system sucking and ignored it.

That's the stable CCCP failing, because of a known and fixed ffdshow issue.
Use the CCCP Release Candidate for now. New pack should be out soon, too.

I had no problems with MediaPortal and CCCP+CoreAVC.

CCCP+CoreAVC is what I use as well (On the Windows box), which does show no issues playing the video. But disable CoreAVC through the ffdshow Video Decoder Configuration by re-enabling libavcodec for H.264 to have ffdshow do the video decoding, and you should see it on CCCP's 2008-01-24 build.

For those in Windows it seems if one uses ffdshow to decode the video, updating CCCP to the latest CCCP Release Candidate seems to be the way to go. (No video corruption seen with CCCP Release Candidate with the ffdshow version they used.)

Not sure what to do about MPlayer though if there is an update or not yet for that.

CoreAVC != FFDShow (libavcodec)

So that's why...

(MPlayer will most likely have the save issues as FFDShow though, since it uses the same decoding library. Maybe I'll see it too once I get around to watching it myself...)

Mplayer works fine if you use a recent libavcodec.

I had to update MPlayer through SVN, build dependencies for MPlayer, patch, compile, are we done yet, install. ...But only after uninstalling the previous MPlayer and other related stuff. I used this guide to help me get through most of it.
