I skipped a lot of the pages... too much to read, but I was wondering if I had to watch any previous series to understand this plot, or can I just watch it straight up? (Much like Macross F)

You don't have to. Tales of the Abyss is a story on its own separate from the other Tales games.

?!? How did this happen? Looks good at first glance, I would guess that more episodes let them showcase more funny moments. Honestly, it's much better that way, and why I prefer the ToE anime to ToP and ToS anime overall; ToE really gets a much better chance to show the chars full personality as they were in the game, and I'm hoping ToA does the same, despite the fact that the chars in the game were REEEEAALLLY annoying for 50% of the game.

Wow. So much cute in this episode. Mieu! And Anise is extremely cute here. A lot more expression here vs the game I suppose. Even tho the game did a pretty good job with it for the time.

Lol, just saw both episodes and thought they were both supberbly done. I really like the pace that they are going. Yes, Jade using Indignation on the Liger Queen. Looks like the next episode includes the God Generals and a probable anticipated enterance by a certain character. Also, the mistreatment of Miu has just begun. Lol at Luke being a complete ass in the second episode, the main reason why I used him first as a meat sheild when I started playing the game.

No, Tokyo MX, the first station to air Abyss aired it as a normal episode, so it was only episode 1.

However, MBS and CBC, which is a day later than MX's airing date, aired it as a one-hour special with episode 1 and 2 together.

Man, for those who have played the game, episode 2 is practically around 25 minutes worth of fanservice. For newcomers and old fans alike, we have another great episode.

From that and leading all the way up to the Cheagle Forest. Although, we never had the ability to use Indigination on the Raiga! Ends with Jade trapping Tear and Luke. Spoiler for episode 2: We have Ion unleashing his Daathic Arte, Tear going dere dere on the cheagles, Luke mistreating Mieu, a cheerful Anise and an awesome Jade. To top it all off, Indignation! Nice work, Sunrise. Funny how Luke is acting like a spoiled, tsundere brat. Well, he does have a good heart despite his asshole exterior, but the story has just begun. For Luke especially, this is going to be a very long journey... Next episode: the God Generals, the return of Guy... dammit, the next episode can't arrive fast enough.
