Just wondering which parts are the same as the anime. I found the anime to be pretty bland from one of the Kanon writers I was expecting more from it. I hope it doesn't end the same, the anime ending was below average.

To put it simply, as far as one volume goes, the story moves faster and by the end of volume 1, Aono has already been revealed to have special powers.
It hasn't been revealed that she is a Yaka yet, because volume 1 ended with a cliffhanger of Aono popping up.

No way to know until the actual volume 2 comes out for sell.

All I know is Takeshi Tsujido looks a whole lot cooler in the manga. Which i've read whats online and is great so far...i just wish the others would come out

I guess I'll never find out what happens next. If only I had been able to get at least that 6th chapter... Oh well.

Regarding the talk of Hige-dandy's character suffering in the manga: I would have been willing to trade any number of characterizations for a shot at a better ending... ;_;

Finished reading volume 2... Hah... Once again, sola... Why can't it end happier...

Well, it was partially like the anime, mostly different though.

Takeshi never faced off against Matsuri in the manga, but by Mayuko, he gives up revenge.
His and Mayuko's story is left for the epilogue. The Yaka that turned Mayuko into a Yaka gets a minor appearance, rather part of her head... Black hair, but it doesn't seem to be Matsuri.

When Yorito started to feel pain from the memories of Matsuri that Aono erased and started to fall apart, Aono decided to leave the city with him. Yorito does not stab Matsuri before this.
They go from place to place, but Yorito is pretty much lifeless. When he finally regains his senses, he runs back to Matsuri, who has already acquainted herself with Mayuko and Takeshi.
Here, Aono chases after him, Yorito leaves her and follows Matsuri, and Aono makes Yorito stab Matsuri with a broken beer bottle.

Afterwards, Takeshi picks the two up and brings them with him. Yorito does scream a bit after waking up, like the anime, but Matsuri was there too, so that resolved soon.

Big fight with Aono vs. Matsuri ended almost like the anime. Matsuri disappears and Aono becomes human again. BUT.. Yorito stays alive.

6 months later...

Yorito and Aono comes back to town, and they meet their old friends, who have completely forgot them. Interestingly, Mana meets Yorito this time the same way she met him at first. Aono forgot about the whole Matsuri events.
Unfortunately, Yorito soon disappears afterwards, since his time is up and his body could no longer hold shape (during Aono vs. Matsuri, at the end after Matsuri stabs Aono, Yorito's body began to collapse, but Matsuri momentarily stopped the process with her blood. The repair, as shown, only lasted 6 months...).

Aono goes into depression over this, of course, and also remembers everything...
She only managed to stand back up after Takeshi comes and tells her Yorito's and Matsuri's last words to her.

Manga ends with Mana, Aono, and Koyori preparing for Koyori's birthday.

Last shot... is of course... the two cans of tomato juice on the park table.


Last, and random note, but the way Aono is drawn when she's angry... makes her look unneededly scary. Kind of has fangs, and slit-pupils...

I'm actually avoiding looking at spoilers this time...

I think I prefer the faster pace the manga is taking.

It's totally unrelated to the story, but reading the notes at the end of Broccoli's volume 1, I was quite surprised to learn that there are more 7-Eleven's in Japan than in any other country. lol

but unfortunatly I couldn't read it ... english subs never ended the manga...


I wonder If there will be some kind of continuation of sola ....... maybe ova , cd dramas ... game ... I don't know ...

We can only hope so much. Seems like such a shame I couldn't finish the manga.

I like the fact that Yorito and Matsuri live on in a sort of spiritual afterlife where they can see the blue sky together. There were pages that showed Aono "talking" to Matsuri and Yorito after they vanished from the material world.

It was kinda alluded to in the anime as well, although not as directly as in the manga
