In the mountain sketch, when Konata finally receives a call from Nanako, she calls herself Sazae, of course, Nanako doesn't fall for that.

I agree that the lucky channel bit was a bit too long. Although as soon as Shirashi asked for water, I was expecting them to throw a bucketfull or two over him.
I think the dream sequence was my favourite part.

I thought the whole pet shop scene was very higurashi-ish för some reason. Still like the the OVA, though

Seems like this is all we'll get now...I mean, they were trying to tie up loose ends with the main characters, right? Tsukasa learns to stand on her own, Kagami shows her warmer side (kind of?), Konata's practically converted Kagami into an otaku, Miyuki.... hmmmm....I don't know.

First reaction: Wait, they have a single word for all that? Nippon banzai!

Still a little confused how the fansubbers got so much out of so little, though various explanations help, but we can always dream.

Very, very meh. Some very funny spots (the entire Hatsune Miku segment), but also some awkward dead time (various people petting Cherry). Nothing special, feels like any 40-minutes L*S episode.

yeah, I've pretty much decided the Cherry segment was a long parody of a date-sim game with the dog as the protagonist. I would have placed it second or third in the sequence -- it might have fared better there.

Speaking of Cherry, I feel sorry for Minami. Always snubbed by her own dog.

Cherry is so cute. Always so lazy and living its life like nobody's business.

Minami is a quiet girl though. Typical of Minorin characters (Minami-ke is different).

Where was the Soul Eater reference. I missed that.
Nukerjsr has answered that

and ehh, i was talking about references in that pet shop only.

Anyways, here are all of the references that I have noticed: (not limited to pet shop scene, which is still a wtf scene for me)

Cinderella
Code Geass
Fate/Stay Night
Farewell Mr. Zetsubou
Hanako of the Toilet (maybe)
Haruhi Suzumiya
Macross
Sgt. Keroro
Soul Eater
Vocaloid2

I gave the OVA a 9. I thought it was very funny. Konota is just mean to Tsukasa when they were lost.
the MMORPG part was funny. Tsukasa can be soo clueless sometimes.
Overall it was good, It was like 2 Lucky Star Episode in 1. ^_^

I've noticed that subs for the OVA state that Cherry is a girl, but I always assumed that Cherry was a male.

Is there any sort of actual proof determining whether Cherry is male or female?

Have you ever *had* a dog or been around them? That's what they do - regardless of the sex of the target. Dogs are about the smell, a vast amount of their brain power processes what comes into their large nasal passages.
