school days - one of a kind unfortunately

death note - only non action, nothing but talking, anime i think ive ever managed to complete, plus its one of my tops
one piece - its a *RARE* shonen, what more can i say?

The fact it has a forum here and hundreds of posts in each thread means at least people have heard of it.
They're praised and mentioned every chance anyone gets. Rare is the last thing these two are.

It has dozens of dubs. Everyone's heard of it and it has fans all over the world. It's also so "rare" they made a crap load of episodes and its still going I think.

Think of: very few fans, never heard of name... or just simply obscure and forgotten.
Unique or special are not the type of rare anime for this thread.

Yeah, there's a difference between *rare* and *unusual/unique*, and anyway, School Days, Death Note, or One Piece aren't really unique. : /

I'm not sure how rare it is now that it has an offical R1 release, but I saw the original Toward the Terra movie... The more recent series isn't exactly popular either.

The most rare anime that I have seen is "Strawberry Panic!". I do not know whether this anime is rare elswhere but here it is as rare as finding a gay man in a female brothel (very rare if you did not understand the term).

What is more is that I bought it as a boxset and I can almost garuntee to you that there are only two of these DVD's between every 70,000 houses in the UK (probably more). It also took me many months to finally find one so I was not to lose the auction for anything! (Ebay). The lady I bought it from also wrote me a nice letter when I bought it congratulating me as I told her through E-mail how much I wanted it.

Rare?

Eien no Aseria: The OVA of an old ps2 game that was never released in NA. It also features the opening theme sang by Kawamura Yumi, who is the same person who sang most of the Persona 3: FES vocal tracks of the OST.

Growlanser IV: The OVA of the best Growlanser game that was also never released in NA. For some reason, only Growlanser 2, 3, and 5 were released, even though Growlanser IV and Growlanser VI were the best ones.

Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu: A very short OVA that only features 6 episodes based on a Nintendo DS game. The story centralizes on a junior correspondent of Sonohara Wave Press's journey into Japan's version of Area 51.

Gundam SEED MSV Astray: A 2-episode ova that features the story of two Astray Gundam pilots, Astray Red Frame and Astray Blue Frame. Each episode is only 6 minutes in length.

BB Damen Bakugainden, if I spelt it correctly. It's bomberman with bombs on their tummy. I had some old chinese dubbed VCD (they are the legit Hong kong edition ;P) and I remembered I had it.

Im not sure but i think: Maze and Piano is kind of rare. I havent seen many people talking about them.
And i dont think "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan" is that rare. I have heard many talking about it and many of my friends have seen it or heard about it.

You want Rare, Journey to the West - R1 Dub...that's rare.
