It really is a mixed bag with that guy . You'd be happy to have avoided taking a blast, but happiness is limited considering the messed up state afterwards.

At any rate do continue to find the antics with those two pretty entertaining. Though only seen the currently translated portion of this manga. With Mikoto being as persistent as Touma is unlucky this situation could repeat itself for a long time.

Their first shown encounter (though not in this Railgun manga). That's the reason why his electronics were fried and his room was so hot.


Chapter 6: Poor Biri Biri, after putting aside her pride (Yeah, I was surprised too. ) for such a cutesy act, Touma just happens to walk in and screw everything up. Mission failed.

Nice chapter. It seems that Kuroro wants some sweet love from Mikoto. Something about Kuroro liking Mikoto so much makes it entertaining. Maybe I just love jealously moments. I was as surprised as Kuroro, I didn't think she could keep composed. The 'little girl' comments seem to tick her off the most(other than losing to Touma of course ). I hope this leads to another diff fight against Touma(not really in terms of place, but its execution).

Am I the only one who thinks that Uiharu being sickly is kinda cute >,<? On another note:

Oh man that ending was great . Mikoto finally makes some progress and Touma comes to the 'rescue'. Man he is so in for it. After the amount of moe Mikoto was putting into this thing its a pretty sad turn of events. Though on the positive we still get to see her really putting up a great act and restraining herself pretty well.

Really was some nice work. Even kicking up the tears when it was necessary. Though for all those reasons she is really going to be pissed about it getting ruined.

Still Kuroro's reactions was plenty of fun in themselves. The ice cream part was pretty fun to see as well.

Touma blocked the Railgun!?!? BS!!! It shouldn't even be physically possible. And I guess I'm the only one who think Uihara is cute >.>.

Anyways, a solid chapter. I liked the slight extention to that bridge conversation they had. Not enough fun-Kuroro though and it seems things are gonna get a bit serious now. I hope there's a little room for some Touma action.

Haha well that was pretty fun. Touma didn't do a great job talking Mikoto down from further attacks . Guy has a great ability to get her riled up and even launch a massive attack like that at him. And yeah there goes taking him out with a railgun attack.

All that hard work going down the drain. Those poor saps thinking getting upgraded to that level was going to save them.

I enjoy chapter 7 but there are a lot of contradictions from the manga, anime and light novel.

• In the original story(anime, novel, manga, take your pick), Touma was trying to rescue the gang from Mikoto because they were trying to talk to her but in Railgun she the one who's talking to them about Power Upper and Touma not only try's to save the gang from her but also saves Mikoto from them. How noble, he was trying saves them from each other.
• Touma blocks Mikoto's Railgun Coin which she did to stop him but in the original, she explain what a railgun is and demonstrates it for him and had a chat before that. Furthermore, (And this is the one that bugs me the most) TOUMA's IMAGINE BREAKER CANNOT STOP A COIN FIRED FROM A RAILGUN!! For goodness sake hasn't the artist do some research? What it was suppose to do was hurt Touma's right hand, BADLY. And the only one who i know that can block Railgun would be Accelerator.
• Mikoto talks about her Clones to him. Okay that's not suppose to happen because the clones are a secret and she doesn't want to talk about it. Why on earth is she talking about a secret she doesn't want anyone to know especially to a guy like Touma. That's like telling a stranger you had a secret affair that you don't want anybody to know.
• How on earth did Saten's use the computer when there's was a blackout thanks to Biri Biri Super lighting that lasted to the morning. Inverted since her area may had their power back on before the rest could.
• There's better be a good explanation on how she manage to stay awake and healthy helping Kuroko on the Power Upper cases and still mange to challenge Touma for a match in the afternoon when she didn't get any sleep last night.
  
  Overall it was still fine. Can't wait for the next chapter especially the main manga.

Is it said in the novels that he can't? And the novel's author is listed as the manga author on Mangaupdates, with the artist being separate. Is it just being listed that way because it's an adaptation?

From what I understand, Imagine Breaker does not work on physical attacks, and Railgun, though powered by electricity, is nevertheless a physical attack. Unless of course you consider the possibility that Mikoto was using her powers not only to propel the coin but also to maintain the velocity of the coin while in flight, which, like the iron sand chainsaw, will be negated on touching Touma's hand. (And now I think I've dug myself into a paradox unwittingly )

I too found the Imouto revelations to be uncharacteristic of Biri Biri. Well I guess we'll learn more about this version of Biri Biri as the manga progresses.

We definitely need more Railgun. I mean - I've read the raws up to chapter 17 (and wonder where the FISH chapter 18 is), but it's nicer to understand everything, not just the obvious parts ^_^ ... thanks to the scanlators!

I wonder WHY I think this sidestory is so funny. It just tickles me at all the right places. Oh, and please no big fuzz about inconsistencies between novel, manga and anime. This is a sidestory, so let's not get too anal about the discrepancies.

The problem of what i got with inconsistencies is that it won't translate well into the anime should JC Staff decided to animate the Railgun stories, they will be some or a lot discrepancies on how things happen in the anime and how things happen in Railgun.

But still, I love Railgun and Biri Biri and her gang and would love see Saten and Uiharu voice and animated. In just a question on how well can they adapt it.

The thing with me is that he manages to anticipate an attack that moves 3 times the speed of sound, which means he couldn't have heard it coming since the sound the attack makes is slower than the actual attack yet he manages to block it squarely in the middle of the blast right where the coin is at. Touma can't be THAT lucky .

I can also see that being an issue that they'd have to fix, but I wonder if they'd bother to fix it at all? I mean, if they're running it with inconsistencies in the manga versions, why not the anime versions?

I'm slightly surprised how rarely Kuroko is mentioned. As much as I love Biribiri, I'd say that Kuroko is the MVP and most diverse character in the show. Mikoto is a reflector - she shines most brightly when Touma (who is MUCH more enjoyable in Railgun compared to Index) and particularly Kuroko highlight her facets. Her overbearing devotion to Onee-sama alone would already be enough to carry the story

What I like most about her is how many different aspects she possesses. In the beginning we mostly get to see her zany and fanatic side, and she's a source for alot of comedy. Seeing her tilt when someone else spends time with Onee-sama (and succeeds with little bits where Kuroko fails) makes me giggle every time I reread it :->

But I particularly appreciate that she isn't reduced to one-dimensional comedic sidekick with hilarious ero-jiji aspects - especially in the later significantly more serious parts we're treated to her more complex sides: Kuroko, the smart, capable, and brave judgement official, and eventually, her vulnerable parts too (I really felt bad for her in the middle of 17, before... well, you'll see *lol*).

Anyway, if it's ever animated (one can dream) and somehow manages to capture the special Railgun atmosphere, Kuroko's seiyuu will have her work cut out for her! Hail Biribiri, but don't forget Kuroko!

It's been a while since I've seen volume 1 of the light novels, but if I remember correctly, I think she did mention her clones to Touma during their meeting on the bridge. Their conversation was longer in the novel and they were talking about the "goals" of the Academy City or something. I don't remember the actual conversation in the light novel, but I don't think her mentioning it was that out of place as compared to their conversation in the railgun manga.
I can understand the Index manga and anime dropping that part of the conversation, so the viewers could be more surprised when they reach the volume 3 arc.

That's right. The Sisters were mentioned in the novel at that scene, but the manga/etc. were the ones to take it out.
The anime seems to be making the whole thing a surprise, but they secretly put in that blimp during episode 6... And then watchers are going to be like "Ohh! That was..."...

Overall, it doesn't really matter if there are inconsistencies.
1. Heck, the original novel has inconsistencies by itself. How much does more inconsistencies hurt? <--not really serious
2. This was supposed to be some spin-off manga after all, so it is not like the manga-ka cares if her manga doesn't go by the same events as the novel.

I hope Saten gets a voiced role in the anime...
