Looks like Media Blasters has licensed Urda and Early Reins

I just saw this over on AnimeNewsNetwork and didn't see any topics about it here, so I thought I'd share the info with everyone.

Media Blasters has the strangest anime license choices i've ever seen...
they're the satanic people that plagued my life with Voogie's Angel, the first anime i ever truly hated with a righteous passion

I liked both shows. I'm glad to see that Urda is licensed especially, to my knowledge it was made by a very small independent studio.
Early rains was fun to watch, there are so little "Western" animes, so I liked the change of settings once in a while.

I find myself surprised that URDA was licensed, but very happy. It was a wonderful show produced on a shoe-string budget. They deserve to make some real money and I am glad that more people will get a chance to enjoy it.

As for Early Reigns... that's a half hour of my life that I am never getting back. I feel bad for the Media Blasters employees that are going to have to translate and time it. I'd feel bad for the voice actors also, except that I am incapable of feeling pity for American voice actors. They deserve it for their part in harming anime with their pathetic acting.

Hey, they brought us 12 Kingdoms and Knigh....I mean Weiss Kreuz so they rock in my book!

I think they licensed URDA because ADV's release of Hoshi no Koe, which is also an independent CG animation, did so well. And the license must've been cheap, since I can't imagine a vicious licensing battle over this one. I still can't believe it though, this license came out of nowhere! If anyone goes to a MediaBlasters panel at a convention, please ask them "so why URDA?"!

I'd buy the DVD, provided it was under US$20. Hmm...okay under $15...
