J-Core Discussion and Information
The term J-Core refers to japanese Hardcore Techno. It's mainly produced by independent japanese artists/labels/circles. This kind of music is sometimes influenced by video game and anime music and is often used for video game/anime remixes. It's also possible that some normal tracks contain passages from specific/various video games and animes.
The artists/labels/circles mainly release their works at japanese conventions, such as Comic Market, M3 and Reitaisai. J-Core used to be an underground music, which became rapidly very famous in the "otaku" scene. Nowdays, it's not as underground as it used to be. Japanese Hardcore Techno is the interpretation of (mainly) following Hardcore Techno styles: - Freeform Hardcore/Trancecore - Gabber/Gabba - Happy Hardcore - Makina (A Bouncy Techno/Hardcore Techno hybrid) - Speedcore (The faster form of Gabber) - UK Hardcore We can sometimes also find other styles in J-Core, but that's rather rare. Here's an incomplete list of some J-Core labels/artists: - 999 Recordings | DJ TECHNORCH - ALiCE'S EMOTiON | REDALiCE - AVSS | Various Artists - BL-Records | MUZIK SERVANT - Blasterhead | Blasterhead - boostsized euphoria | kenta.v-ez. - C.H.S | t+pazolite - Cis-Trance | DJ Technetium - CODE-49 | LV.4 - Druggy's Acid RacK | Various Artists - Exhausted Records | Next Tribe - GUHROOVY | DJ CHUCKY - HARDCORE TANO*C | Various Artists - HETERODOXY.BIZ | tak666 - LINEAR | Various Artists - luvtrax | quad - M&C Rec. | Alabaster - MINAMOTRANCE | Minamotoya - MPT | Various Artists - MOB SQUAD TOKYO | Various Artists - Prismatica Material Records | Asuka Sakurai - PynkXP | DJ SHOKOMI, Spy47 & T2Kazuya - Round Wave Crusher | Shingo DJ - SHARPNELSOUND | DJ SHARPNEL - Sound Iemitsu. | JinG*da*LaW - SPEEDKING PRODUCTIONS | Various Artist - WAS Records | Thanatos I hope there are still some other J-Core listeners around. Let's talk about our favorite artists, tracks, (re)mixes or whatever. ![]() Happy discussing! Last edited by Gaia; 2008-11-05 at 08:43. |

I'm actually new to this J-Core thing but I have started to really enjoy DJ Sharpnel and DJ Yousuke, would that fall under Speedcore mostly? or something else? I'm still unsure. Some of my more liked songs are Redpill, Blue Army, Shihen, Moonearth, Blue Betreyal. I have others but I just can't remember them off the top of my head
. Maybe you could recommend some good stuff to try out?
