Encoding - Different Station Different Animation? [Kannagi]

I didn't really know where this should go or what title, more or less this has to do with encoding I suppose.

So anyway, I started watching Kannagi and was all like Ayako's encodes aren't what I would want to archive. Since it's only 704x400 when SD shows I'm pretty sure are mastered at 480p at least. Anyway I went through 3 difference sources and compared against Ayako's. The first 2 were transport streams MBS and BSJ, and the last was DVD.

Out of the 3 sources BSJ looked the best. Yeah, DVD was kind of fail, it was a bit blurred and had halo'ing. MBS was just blurred to hell and back. BSJ was very high quality, dark sharp lines and clean. So anyway, after comparing all that, I noticed something weird. I took a screen shot of the same scene from BSJ, DVD and Ayako. And the weird thing is, Ayako's is literally "DRAWN" differently for the same frame. Or is it because it was filter raped? Could a handy encoder let me know what they think? Thanks.

moving on, when (as in how long after MBS) did it air on BSJ? it might be that if it aired a few weeks later they got the DVD master instead of whatever MBS got.

also, are you really sure that is the same frame? how did you determine it was the same?

I dunno. I'm Ayako encoder, i don't do filtering at all, ask the Japanese Raw Faggots, i dont use TS, go to Share and click on the first Raw that appears, something with [2008-MX] \o/

I always thought D-MBS had a much better video airing vs BS-J. I know there is a greater sound quality on a D-MBS .ts vs a D-TBS .ts. I also noticed the late airing of Soul Eater is also on BS-J. So would D-MBS actually compare to BS-J?

Would someone qualified like Mentar, Deathwolf, Nicholi or Arabianswan care to comment? I've seen great work from all of you (Arabianswan's Chevalier for Shinsen-subs was great!) and would trust the four of you the most for a legit answer.

I checked it like 20 times. Basically, same audio frame, one frame before the next movement. This frame was a still scene for over 5 frames. I could find anything in the BS-J copy that was exactly the same as the Ayako one for +/- 20 frames.

Transport stream needs sum ColorMatrix().

That aside, the BS-J looks significantly better, but I think the real point here is, how did the animation style change? Normally I would blame excessive warpsharping, but that's too drastic of a difference to be caused by a filter, so I'd say the only possibility is that BS-J received a different copy of the video than MBS.

I'd like to see how this discrepancy manifests itself during fluid animation.
