Actually it's been confirmed to be a Gadessa, albeit Healing Care's version (which has a giant power pack hanging off its back).

As long as they don't end up killing each other, imagine the make up sex Louise and Saji will have

Simple, it isn't made of explosive material, mainly out of non-reactive metal such as iron and rocks, so the beam just sliced it cleanly with the extreme heat.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time rocks have exploded, but seeing as it's a space asteroid and presumably wouldn't contain much moisture, I can't think of a sensible explanation for the explosion.

When you heat up mater even rocks it expands heat it up rapidly and it explodes. You don't need water to have an explosion. The asteroid erupted like a volcano with the material in the center being rapidly heated up rapidly forcing the out side away.

The orbits of those asteroids are needed to be tracked all the time and having a transponder on them is the easiest way to accomplish this.

So just confirming for my own curriosity. That asteroid being sliced and diced by OO Raiser was it using it's GN Sword IIs in beam saber mode, right? You know, like the models showing the non-rifle rotation of the blade itself for use as super long beam swords?
