Looks like I share a similar username with this guy, so I think now's the right time to cut it down to just sa547 to prevent any identification mistakes and spare other forumers the hassle of typing out my full username, which is a mouthful.

(Emailing me the name change is also needed, just in case I forget.)

There was in fact a user with the name of dagger, it was just that they appear to have never used the account since creating it in 2003. Even if you try using the Members List and searching for a name, it doesn't show those users who have never made a post. That would also be the reason why a new Dagger account was never created during that time.

If it is an unused account, why not simply delete it, instead of changing the name?

Well I guess you could see it as avoiding any possible database corruption. Although I would assume vBulletin can handle removal of relationships etc when deleting a user, you never know with such generally unused features.

(though you're right, deleting is better since the user can then re-register with the same email)

This will be my second and last request... I realised it's bad to have username which refers to anime I like at the moment as that changes quite repeadetly.. But using signature/avatar combo which have nothing to do with username from other anime is weird :<.
