Haruhi-chan cracked me up. On the other hand, I felt Churuya-san lost its edge in its transition in animated form. And god knows that it is not really the most challenging work in its field.

Is it my imagination, or did the little sister sound like Patty-chan?
I'm also surprised at the animation quality of Haruhi-chan...lots of computer graphics and rather smooth. The voice acting was very amusing in both. But Haruhi-chan herself, while having few lines, comes across as Konata doing Haruhi...which of course fits perfectly. Churuya-san was slightly less animated, but that goes with the style I think. I do wonder how much they'll be able to get out of that one...though there are at least two volumes of 4komas, plus a lot of parody works.

While the Churuya short wasn't as funny as the Haruhi-chan short...I wont to see more...if only for the totally different take on the main characters...especially Mikuru. Gotouza-sama can have fun there.
I got the images for the New Years dream because of Azumanga Diaoh doing their New Years dreams several years ago. But is sounds like the voice actors are having way too much fun with these rolls. Now I want to hear Itsuki doing the Hosaka laugh in this....just because.

Well, those were amusing. Haruhi-chan was mildly funnier, but I loved the art style of Churuya-san. Churuya-san probably won't hold up if they really are just repeating that one joke, but it was serviceable for a first episode.
