I upgraded my CPU from dual core to quad core and I got this error message, the exact AVS script was working fine on a dual core CPU.

DirectshowSource("C:\ABC.MKV")
gives this error
Evaluate: System exception - Access Violation

This error does not occur on AVI files, just MKV. MP4 does not give any error but if it's h264, only grey screen is seen, if it's Xvid, picture shows but both does not give audio, regardless of audio codec.

I have the latest Avisynth 2.5.8

Can you play H.264 mkv/mp4 in a DShow player?

Alternatively use ffmpegsource.

I think when you upgrade your computer some system does not match. Try to look and analyze your computer system.
