Even if you don't think in terms of consoles and the obvious problems that come with them (ie, they offer only PC games, which they can shove into whatever x86 processor they've got up and running), videogames aren't particularly multitask-friendly processes. And as I pointed out already, they don't have the benefit of purchasing a hugeass Blade server and setting up a lot of virtual machines because hardware 3D acceleration emulation in virtual machines is practically non-existent.

The business world has a lot of problems already trying to scale non-interactive data aggregation applications, how in the HELL do they plan to do videogames that way, which rely on dynamic 3D rendering? That's something you leave the client computers to deal with.
