Oh, then how would you explain subsistence dating, selling of panties (link NSFW) etc. ?

Some people are significantly less innocent than others?

Not everyone is innocent but not everyone acts like those girls do either.

I only did it once and it was jokingly to mock everyone else who was doing it.

Considering the Ushio is probably the only child I've seen to ever act her age that wasn't a baby. Most "high schoolers" in anime seem to act either too young or too old for their age. But then I'm basing off of American teenagers...and it has been a while since I was in high school.

Yui reminds me a bit of Nagisa (probably the hair and innocense) but at the same times doesn't. (The Fuuko levels in this one may be strong depending on if she spaces out on anything besides castinets) She also talks with her mouth full, something I remember Ayu from Kanon doing. We'll see what she does next week when they get her an instrament.

That too. I find that a lot of people panic or get angry when characters either aren't innocent or actually have sex, though.
It's a (male chauvinistic) method of control. Same reason why male nuts in the US promote sexual abstinence.

The Japanese society is pretty fucked up... as are most societies worldwide, so sometimes it comes off as a bit off-putting. And we only see a part of that society, too.

Perhaps I'm desensitized, but I don't think it's creepy at all. I'm sure for most people it's just harmless fun. The likelihood of someone getting hurt in real life is pretty low.

Speaking of claiming wives, there's actually a website where people can marry their favorite fictional characters.

Well, abstinence IS the most effective method of birth control.

But yeah, definitely a method of control, although, there's little one can do to change that kind of thing.

But that's why we have artistic stuff like anime in the first place. To be subversive. To promote social change.

Too bad a lot of anime don't do anything like that though...

Okay, see, that's terrifying.

These people need to leave their homes.

Yay for more fake torrents. Why is it only K-On!, though?

The one from [qq] is fake, apparently.

American teens aren't innocent either in high school.

Those days are gone forever.

K-On is really really anticipated for some reason, judging by the number of searches for it on TokyoTosho...

Man, that first story pisses me the hell off.

Apparently. 34 people are viewing this thread. I feel like I'm at a New Years party.
Well, it is KyoAni, and the characters [especially Yui] seem ridiculously cute.

That's high school now [and middle school as well, or so I've heard]. As far as rumors go, that happens a lot at my high school.

Thank you. Time to go back downloading the RAW -__-"

I know KyoAni's show always gets special attention (or should I say, overhyped), but this is just cruel.
Downloading RAW, seeing the sub, cancel the RAW, downloading the sub, just to realize it's fake. Rinse and repeat.

As waifu is a different business .
We have yet to reach that Kannagi's incident level.

There was a pretty amusing uprising not so long ago from Kannagi manga readers at the hint that the main character might have not been a virgin. It almost got the whole manga canceled. Some fans shoot pictures of themselves ripping apart their Kannagi collection.

I hope those are the fewer... but unfortunately those are the ones who support the anime industry the most, so those will be the fans the studios will try to cater to.

What, girls getting arrested on child pornography charges?

Sad, ain't it?

It doesn't help the general public's perception of anime fans any, either.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is all the same person though. At this point, I think it's best to take any indications of subs with a heavy dose of skepticism for a few hours.

Luckily, all of the groups have websites or private trackers.

Because K-on made it big on 4chan so the trolls are at it big time. There are some really aggressive anti-Kon trolls out there. (4chan is getting ddos'd right now because of them.)

No, girls allowing other people to take naked pictures of them or girls taking naked pictures of themselves and making them public. They just don't get caught.
