I'll just say that in the manga, she didn't cry, at all. And after her entry, it felt as if she had always been with the initial 4 girls the whole time, and not as a newcomer.

Probably she was welcomed and felt at home in the manga, unlike in the anime she had an adjustment period before getting comfortable with the girls.

Well, for a club which is supposedly fighting for its survival, they sure aren't putting much work into finding new members. It's bascially to avoid a repeat of the previous K-On club: they have to find new members so that there will be someone remaining after the graduates leave the school.

But it would be trouble on the mangaka too. We already got a tomboy, a dress-up doll, a lesbian, an airhead and a loli, practically every stereotype available in the anime genre. We also have Ui who is a possible siscon yandere, and Nadoka who is the level-headed megane of the lot.

What else could we add in?

You've read way too much into this.

A lot of people would have read it that way anyways and it would seem that way, I'd say.

Azunyan is part tsundere.

I wish they would get Kugi to voice her instead.

So your really suggesting that Ui is a potential murder?

I'm pretty certain the writers didnt intend that.

Not in that case though. Probably a cute yandere.

Anyway I discovered where the Azunyan parody probably came from :

Spoiler for spoiler:

I'm sorry but I still think your wrong, Azusa has hardly acted loli, the only grounds you have to support that claim is that shes shorter than the other girls, shes actually been one of the strongest members.

This is totally random, but I was rewatching Minami-ke's beach episode, and while I never defended that Kana Minami looks like Azusa, it's kind of uncanny how they look so similar when tanned. I just thought it was interesting.

Spoiler:

/random

Well, the manga has her and Ui as 2nd-year girls. Wonder how things will go from there.

A train trip on this would be pure awesome, but also something 4-channers will cotton onto immediately...

Actually that's a good idea. I was thinking that JR East could do a tie-up...

Some interesting comments on this lass.... I really just viewed her as a mini-Mio in terms of temperament but without the phobias. She's probably more "realistic" in terms of a studious right-thinking stay-in-the-groove girl than any of the 4 original members. Just as Mio is the underlying "stay on track" driver, Azusa will take that role as Mio eventually graduates.

I realize there's a commercial element in manga design... but I really find it difficult to imagine the mangaka does a "personality matrix layout", "archetype selection" or anything so scientific in creating a storyline. As the mangaka runs out of ideas, one might expect a new character to appear (e.g. American transfer student ala Patty Martin (L*S) or Kate (Sketchbook)))

They'll need a new drummer in Ayunyan's third year...also a bass player (assuming Ui doesn't take up bass).

An American drummer.....

As for Kana Minami...she was out in the sun having fun the longest of the sisters...they spent a bunch of that time trying to get Haruka to take her shirt off...much to the pleasure of those watching. (Haruka IS Amazing).
