As for the DVD sales, if Kadokawa is really going through with releasing Endless Eight separately instead of bundled in with the other new episodes, well, it would be a surprise if they'd even break the 7000-unit sale mark. People on both sides of the Pacific are obviously angry, but we'll see if their wallets share their indignation.

Generally if it's a rerelease/special edition/anniversary edition then I've noticed they only sell about half of what new seasons/sequels do. That kind of throws a monkey wrench into things because now one has to speculate whether Otaku recognize endless eight as slight variations on the same episode or as a new season. If it's the former then I wouldn't be surprised if Vol. 1 pushed 20,000 but each subsequent volume only pushes about 8 to 10 thousand.
By the way, 1 episode for 5,000 or so yen is just the standard format for a Vol. 1 release of a 13-14 episode series. 1 for the initial release (usually with a collector's box) and then 2 from then on ending with a volume 7 or in the case of 14 episode shows a volume 8, usually having some sort of DVD exclusive for the second episode for Kadokyoto shows.
