It's about to end.

The Sports Day part was just a small part of the episode, and the most memorable. It's basically a setup episode, like any first episode of a new story arc.

Well that was a nice start for Sighs.
Remember, it gets better later and they have 5 episodes for this.

I LOVED expressions on Kyon and Haruhi. Seriously, I like new designs much more.
New background music was there as well... pretty nice.

They left out (for a time being?) a scene where

They had that scene in "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku" video game though.

Anyway, that was a good episode.

Yeah, instead of Kyon just saying there was a sports festival (or day, whatever) that took place, they chose to just animate part of it. At least I think it was only mentioned in the novel. Anyway, they gotta make sure that this will last five episodes lol.

Train scene was nice, but best part of the episode has got to be Yuki's part in the relay race. Major lol.

As for art/animation, I believe we are back (with the rest of the season hopefully) to E8 5 and 8 quality -- new character designs with better-of-2006 animation, minus the overly detailed background art and characters (though we had a glimpse of that here with the train and classroom scenes -- and hoping we eventually get more). Plus, we get lots of "new" facial expressions this time around. Lots of things I might have missed from the stream though -- kinda laggy today.

Hahaha I still can't get over Yuki's relay run.
