Well, once again: a.f.k. sub is out if anyone missed it.

Nice episode once the dialogue was understood... Taniguichi's question to Kyon about what Haruhi is going to do was hilarious as to how he narrowed down his options.

The animation is alot better than the last episode, but it's still lacking compared to the first season since it still looks like K-ON! KADOKAWA and Kyoani, get with the program... It's NOT K-ON!.... K-ON! art style only works great with K-ON! only IMO, don't put it in Haruhi... it makes the impression of the show not as good as it supposed to...

The good thing is that this episode was alot more enjoyable than the last... more so with the filming scenes with Mikuru... Otherwise, this episode is good, but the art style needs work... perhaps reverting back to the orginal art style?

Times change... styles often get a modernized retuning or streamlining... get used to it.

It's my understanding they decided to go with this style for Haruhi before or about the same time as working on K-On, I could really be wrong though.

I think so, too. It's just that K-ON used a style similar to it (maybe intentionally, maybe not) and aired before we got to see it before the new episodes of this airing. We saw K-ON animated with it first and therefore Haruhi gets compared to it instead of K-ON's animation being compared to Haruhi.

Now when we talk about it, it start to remind me of how back in the 1st Ep of K-on, i found it's "strange" that i keep seeing a younger Haruhi in Nodoka and Ritsu...

Its the "and the other guy is kinda creepy" part that made me LOL

Kyon, Itsuki and Yuki, as well as everyone else, weren't changed that much to really make a fuss out of it.
Mikuru was moe'd up, but then again, she is intended as moe, after all!
The only big controversial change is Haruhi herself.

Then again, was she really as sharp and witty as they were trying to depict her in 2006 look? ~_~

I disagree here. Yuki gained many levels in cuteness. I don't really think it is a good thing. Yuki from Eipsode00 seemed more creepier whith here wicth cosplay then she is now. I have no problem with her being pretier in other shots, however

She had some ugly shots on season1.

Also, as someone have already pointed, Kyon's range of expression is far bigger now. Don't know if it is a good thing (nor if is a bad thing).

I agree with you about Haruhi, however.

Though upon watching the A.F.K version I notice Haruhi's Yui-iness nearly disappears when she's in profile and at least she has a nose unlike the K-On characters.

Also Itsuki always gave me a Kaworu vibe anyway, I think that's why I don't trust him completely.
