Also, how is the overall tone of CRC? I kind of overdosed on angst (still havent finished Kana because of it) so Im looking for something a little less traumatic.
The game is definitely worth it. It looks good and plays well, has cute girls and doesn't fall apart after the first go-round.

You get one ending per girl. That's because you are playing within a club which lasts one month, and seeing a girl after the month is up is a special situation. It will take a long time to finish the game, but that's all good.

And you don't have to repeat too much stuff when you are moving on to a different girl. If the girl you are shooting for is not around, you can just chat up a couple of girls and then just go home. The girls' calendars are important to pay attention to - there are little symbols to tip you off about making a special effort on those days.

The tone is light-hearted, which is why I like it so much. There are no deep secrets - either you make an all-out effort for a girl or you don't, but you can't expect a girl to go out with you (or "put out") if you are out with other girls too much.

Talking to the girls involves talking about stuff they are interested in and being honest with them. There are little things like one girl might kind of hold back because of her friend, another girl takes awhile to make herself available for dates etc. They don't quite add up to a story, but give each girl a different feeling and let you know how to get closer to the girl.

Nobody has sick fetishes or dies or anything. You are not trying to control people's minds or enslave or train them, etc. When you get to be a girl's steady, she might change a little when she can be herself more. But the endings don't involve "3 years later" or anything, they are more about what it's like to be going out with the girl.

That is one of the biggest reasons I got CRC, the fact that these are normal girls with normal personalities, you have everything from the girl who is undeniably in love with you to the older and more intellectual types, with everything in between. It feels as if these characters are actual real people and the events are real things.

Like I said, these types are way to few and far between so if you like the style you pretty much have to jump on it when they come

I've liked "maid's story" best so far. It's kind of managering game, where you train maid's to they're future jobs. I like managering/rpg games, so I quess that's reason for my choise. Tho haven't played that much h-games, cause most of them (english translated) just suck :/

True, most translated H-games either suck, or they┤re just visual novels where you can make like three yes-no choices in the entire ┤game┤.

I like it when the game has some actual, good gameplay. Like the games by AliceSoft for example. It┤s a shame we┤ll never see those games translated.

That's obvious : none of the english translated games are worst playing IMO.
Japanese games in another hand are quite hard to understand, thought I was able to understand and enjoy Star Platinum since the gameplay isn't that hard.
This game is quite original compared to most others hentai-games and is quite good looking for an old game.

Babbitto2k & Darkcntry,

Thanks for the reviews. Sounds like something to try then. I have been holding off since it was a little more cash then I wanted to spend initally. But with everything else so dark/angsty or depressing, this sounds like a good change.

I would kill for an English translation of this.

Anyway, I'm just bumping this to wonder, has anyone played Hourglass of Summer? It looks pretty good, considering that most H-games imported to the U.S. are just shitty porn visual-stories. If I can't get Kanon, maybe I can settle for this.

The "Hourglass of Summer" that has been translated to English is a non-adult version, in DVDPG format. Other than that, the people at the Peach Princess forums who have played it said it was a really good game (far better than the earlier DVDPG titles released in English, maybe with the exception of Phantom of Inferno).

I have it, and its pretty decent so far. If you have been following the anime, its pretty much dead on with it.

My only complaint is that it runs from the DVD, so make sure you got a fast player that doesnt buffer to much.

Other than that, its got a pretty decent storyline so far, and the only thing I have noticed is that the character drawings are slightly different for Kaho between the anime and the game. Otherwise its almost dead on between the two.

Its certainly worth looking into, and since its non-H, its fairly cheap in comparison.

Finally got around to picking it up, and you guys were dead on the money. No heavy drama, no "rip your heart out and jump up and down on it" moments.

Still working my way through, its pretty long, but I would have to agree with your reviews. Its pretty well done, and fairly realistic. The writers definately went out of their way to give the girls distinct personalities, and the certainly covered a pretty wide spectrum.

I like it so far, my only complaint is that the voice tracks are kind of spotty, and the Japanese voice track is MUCH better than the english dub.

There might be problems with high-buffering players, but that's a plus in that I can play the game on my PC, PS2 or DVD player

Thanks for your review, I guess I'll have to put this on my to-buy list (after some Jpop CDs... w).

Hey does anyone plan on getting Kakyuusei 2? And if so how do you think its gonna be? Personally I have a little trouble deciding if I should get Kakyuusei 2 or Kimi ga Nozomu Eien fan Disc first.

http://www.himeya.com is a pretty decent place to start if you can't get to Japan in person.

www.g-collections.com is also another.

I have Jewel Knights Crusaders, Do You Like Horny Bunnies 2, and Brave Soul. Story wise Brave Soul is the best, and IMO the most fun cuz its an rpg with some cool CG's. Now the other 2 are just Pr0n games unfortunately. Stories are little to non existant.

Jewel Knights is friggen ridiculous and IMO funny as hell. The main character, Ginji, who you play just goes around raping everyone. Pretty dumb but the diologue makes me laugh. Havent gone all the way thru yet this mofo is long.

DyLhB 2 has alot more to it than Jewel Knights BUT, still lacking story wise. Art is great. Thats about it lol.

I did have Private Nurse and Heart de Roommate. IMO both these were great. Great art and great story to boot. I lost them though tyring to find them again. My fav was Heart de Roommate though.
