I disagree, I found it a great scene that showed Alicia was fully willing to sacrifice herself to protect her loved ones.

Going Valkyrie without a spear and shield is something they also could in the game, as shown in signs of awakening. They're just nowhere near as powerful. And neither was Alicia in this fight, she was faster and stronger, but nowhere near as fast and strong as she was while wielding her weapons.

Valkyrie powers have always been innate. Ragnite is just a booster.

True, and she did stop it. The problem is she initially didn't know how (which, really, is more a flaw in the game than it was in the anime. Just how did Alicia know how to use that power? Much less stop it? At least the anime makes it more believable for her to use something she has never seen before, because she saw it used right before her eyes). But sheer willpower and the desire to live made find a way. Love conquers all and stuff.

Debatable, and without a source possibly inaccurate as well.

It's a bit cliché-ed when compared to you know what though.

I'm quite certain it's activation/de-actvation is related to one's desire. It's what Sel wanted to do at the time, and what motivated Alicia during the whole "destiny"-like mindset. And arguably she did see Sel use it ig.

I get the feeling I'm not being very clear...

we could also argue that Alicia still hasn't known how to effectively control her power, and maybe in her deepest mind, she actually wants to die coz she thinks she can never go back as a normal girl..but Welkin convinces her and as ppl said, love conquers all

Good one Lummie. Although..

1)We didn't see Fabio die on screen so it didn't happen.

2)Even if Fabio did die, he would return as a heroic spirit!

btw

Spoiler for why?:

B/c it holds alot of poetic and literary significance

@ justavisitor, that's kinda what I meant, and I think it's something the adaptations shares with the source isn't it?

And Alicia's desire to live pre-kiss was rather low. See? It all makes sense!

All she saw was the boom, not the fwoosh.

Actually it does, well I'm not exactly sure how it is in the anime yet, but ig it was due to recent revelations and a different perspective on her existence than what she had before. -From what I've read I think the anime does this aswell-albeit a bit differently to say the least.

Quite, but the game heavily implied she knew what happened. Like ppl have said, it's innate, an awakening, etc.-they don't need an instruction manual.

Now my post sounds like a comparison

Oh yes, very differently. But the core of it remains the same.

..What the hell is this? It seems like ALL anime ending of the this and last year is crap. ==

-I still can't belief Max, whom was calm and reasonable turned insane. And in the end.. Lelouch - I mean Albert Wesker - oh no no no I mean Max gets mutalated by too much POWER and dies... == Really?

Well, at least Alice gave him a blow job before he died.

Oh dear, well that was about as good and accurate overall as the Disgaea anime adaptation, complete with a "not quite the ending we were looking for"(or me anyway) factor.

Spoiler for credits:

Man after loving the game, i was pumped, I really wanted to like this anime, I tryed so hard.

Alas

All video games turned into anime series seem to be lackluster anyway and we don't expect anything great about them anyway. Looks like everything was rushed and we barely get any explanations on a few things. I hope this won't be licensed.

I don't know about you guys but I'd think the epilogue would've had more of a hit if we'd actually had some sort of development for the squad members. I mean I felt nothing except maybe....yeah no one.

I mean would it have killed the writers to give at least an episode or so to flesh out characters like Marina and Jann for example? Or that blond hair boy?
