How do you mean he is unimportant? He is a comic relief, Ouga's mentor and trainer, the final villain and the strongest characters eva (you saw him in Ouga's dream!).

The series has lost a bit of something ever since the start of this arc. It just isn't the same as the pre-Toujou arcs, imo anyway. The gag hasn't been funny lately and it's really dragged.

My thought exactly, there's just not as much "bang!" anymore. Here's hoping the it will get better after this arc.
