My Team

Naruto
Sasuke
Shikamaru
Haku
Neji

Reasoning Behind this team: Naruto is the strongest Genin currently, He has the Kyuubi, the Rasengan and his trusty Kage Bushing, also he is the 2nd smartest Genin behind Shika. Every time Naruto has fought, hes come up with a clever way to defeat the enemy. Also He can summon Gamabunta if stuff gets crazy.

Sasuke is there because he and Naruto work extremely well together. Everytime theyve fought together they can read each others plans well, also Sasuke can control Naruto when he get too passionate and goes in blindly. Sasuke is also the 2nd strongest Genin currently, and with his Sharingan, Chidori and extreme speed hes a force to be reconded with.

Shikamaru is the smartest Genin around, he also is a strong leader and he and Naruto are also good friends, thus giving them good teamwork. Also his Shadow Imitation could possibly work very well with a Rasengan or a Chidori, Imagine him holding 4 people down, then releasing right before Naruto and Sasuke come in w/ Rasengan and Chidori

Neji is an excelent scout, he respects Naruto and he has the bloodline of a Hyuuga, another excellent addition to the team

Haku also has an advanced bloodline, not to mention possibly being the strongest on the team (remeber he toyed around w/ Sasuke and Naruto, finally paralyzing Sasuke, only to be defeated by a fully fully seal on the breaking limit Naruto, and still had the strenght to teleport and save Zabuza) He also seems like hed work well this team.

That team Would be good, but the best possible team is this

Konohamaru
Udon
Moegi
That little kid from the Zabuza arc
Kisame

Imagine how funny it would be to make Kisame have to deal with all of the kids, that could be a show on its on

Haku wasnt exactly toying, more like he didnt want to kill them. That doesnt mean he wasnt trying to immobilise them. He tried to get serious but at that point sasuke already activated sharingan and she/he couldnt touch him. He had to use Naruto as bait to take sasuke down. Haku b4 activating bloodline move was just on par with a pre-sharingan/pre-lee speed/chidori sasuke..not too strong.

IMO now he has nothing on sasuke, without even using his curse seal. On this fight he already has chidori, lee speed and sharingan..

naruto kyubi vs haku is supposudley the same as the naruto vs neji kyubi mode according to some peeps here. If thats the case, neji sure put up alot more fight than haku did.

Hmmm ... so 5? Ok:

Gaara - Hi's able to kill many people and finish off those left from his teammates if they can't kill (they still haven't killed any1...)

Shikamaru - Teamleader and I would love to see what Shikamaru could comeup with resources like Gaara (also Temari + Shikamaru )

Temari - Mainly to try to calm Gaara down if he goes cracy, also the most powerfull genin female.

Naruto - Extra Naruto's and Rasengan ... also good teamwork with Sasuke, Shikamaru (and Temari/Gaara?)

Sasuke - To control Naruto if he goes on Kiyubi mode (spelling?), he's (sasuke) also good allaround fighter and has chidori.

Lead: Shikamaru, he is very smart which is a huge plus for a leader and he knows when to give up.

Gaara - Strongest genin. Would be an huge asset to the team. can also use his third eye to scout a bit.

Neji - Locate anyone around him basically see all that's happening for quite a distance. And he is also very strong.

Shino - ZKind of like a co-captain. Basically like Shika but to a lesser extent.

Kabuto if you consider his Leaf Rank. Well he is veryn strong but most importantly he is a great med nin.

Didn't put Naruto because wel he might just end up getting the team killed. And whatever can go wrong might just end up going wrong.

The ultimate group, eh...

Shikamaru
Temari
Naruto
Neji/Hinata
Sasuke

Shikamaru- on any given day, Shikamaru will be in my team. He is the primary strategist and overall, the best leader. He is generally a voice of reason (thus ending any unnecessary arguments) and can mediate between the wishes of his fellow teammates (by listening to what they are willing to do, he can push forward in the most efficient way possible. If necessary, he is the most willing of anyone I've seen to sacrifice his own life for the good of his teammates and the mission. Not to mention, he's the only Chuunin thus far. Anything that's not a traditional genin-based team requires at least one Chuunin, a certified squad leader.

Temari-- In a situation where Shikamaru needs to yield his command (going more so for power than brains), if he needs to stay back to fend someone off or to set up a plan while his team moves forward, Temari is second-in-command. She can devise strategies and hold her own in a fight offensively and defensively with just one swing of her fan. Pretty much, she can act as the primary shield for her team. Her ability to summon efficiently gives Naruto a great deal of freedom with his Chakra so that he does not have to do big but risky things to win a battle.

Naruto-- for reasons Shikamaru gave, Naruto is the most versatile member of his team. Think FFVII at Fort Condor (Fighters, as opposed to Attackers and Defenders) and you'll get my drift. He is well-rounded in fighting ability. As far as strategy goes, his unconventional methods and his willingness to get his hands dirty (or blown off, whichever comes first) makes him an excellent asset to an already powerful staff of brain power. His Kage Bunshins can aid anyone in a pinch, and as such, he can use them for covering an ally or giving an ally more ammunition (using them to transform into other weapons). As a last line of defense, he can either summon Gama Bunta or use the Kyuubi, and that will be that. For a particularly difficult foe, Naruto can use Rasengan, and multiple Kage Bunshins can do Rasengan as well if Naruto ever gets to that point in his training.

Neji/Hinata-- Either one. Whomever you choose, it's still good. Not so much looking at their attacks, the thing I'm looking at is their skills in surveillance and information gathering. Using the Byakugan to see into the distance, they can then set it up for Temari to ambush any enemies to avoid unnecessary conflict. While Neji is clearly better at fighting, he can be brash as opposed to the calmer Hinata, who can be too timid. Like I said, whatever floats your boat, but a Hyuuga is a must-have in the ultimate team. And just because Hinata hasn't learned the Bloodline Limits yet doesn't mean she won't. She is the heir to them, meaning the only way she won't learn them is if she dies before that time.

Sasuke-- For actual combat, when long-range attacks and strategy fail, Sasuke is the best at dealing with opponents hand-to-hand. Also, IF strategy is failing, then it will most likely have gotten through Temari's quick-to-deal-with-trouble attacks, Shikamaru's better-than-all strategies, and the Hyuuga Byakugan, which leaves the Sharingan to dismantle anything that reading Chakra cannot do. For a particularly difficult foe, Sasuke has his allies to keep the foe in one place long enough for him to come crashing in with the Chidori.

This goes beyond like/dislike of characters. This is actually breaking down their strengths and weaknesses, not just saying "one owns another". Looking at what they offer to the others as a complementary whole rather than as individuals is what's important. I think this could be the most devastating team we have.

1. Neji
2. Lee
3. Sasuke
4. Temari
5. Gaara

Temari would be Team leader since her intelligence is around Shikamaru level

keep in mind
Spoiler:

@ fieryshadowcard: Neither Neji nor Hinata know/have done their bloodline limits, we haven't seen the Hyuuga Bloodline Limit yet

No, Hinata has never done a Bloodline Limit (which I never said... I said she was the heir to the bloodline limits and would one day learn them), but 64 Strikes is a Hyuuga Bloodline Limit.

Temari's a good strategist, but she's nowhere near Shikamaru's level (this is coming from a guy whose two favorite characters are Shikamaru and Temari... and between the two of them, Temari is my all-time favorite). She's more so average at strategy (there is an official chart that lists everyone's stats) She's good at anticipating attacks and planning ahead for the next move. Shikamaru is good with anticipating and dealing with a problem in the middle of it, then planning ahead countless moves. There is no doubt that Temari's intelligence is impressive, but that does not her a team leader make. A second-in-command, yes, but Temari can be too brash (as shown in her fight with Shikamaru and as shown later on in the manga).

Agreed with fieryshadowcard: Shikamaru (main strategist), Temari (secondary strategist and long range attacker), Sasuke (technician, hand to hand fighter), Neji (scout, disabling moves), Naruto (raw power with Rasengan or clones).

I might switch out Naruto for Gaara though.

Hmmm I'd say:

Kimmaro- Kimmaro is probably the ultimate versatile tank, he can fight well using Taijutsu and take most if not all the hits the opponent can dish out. He also has shown amazing strength being able to move forward during a desert coffin.

Gaara- Another Tank, in order to beat Gaara you have to get close to Gaara, now imagine fighting Kimmaro with Gaara slamming you with sand from a distance.

Sasuke- Sharringan, all purpose tool, he could see through anything Gaara and Kimmi could not.

Temari- Powerful distance attacks would complement Gaara greatly.

Shikarmaru- The strategist.

I see it kind of like Wolverine/Juggernaut (kimmaro) fighting alongside Magneto (Gaara) while Professor X and Jean Grey plot out the enemies demise (Temari,Shikamaru)

I wouldn't put Gaara in. Gaara, as far as his outlook on life goes, has changed. However, there's still the fact that his mind is unstable from Shukaku. If pushed too far, Gaara will lose control and Shukaku will take over. Unlike when Naruto becomes possessed, Shukaku will not distinguish between friend or foe; he will distinguish between those who have blood and those who do not. And since his opponents will all most likely have blood, they will be his target. Temari can't sweet-talk Gaara if he loses control. Another thing; since Gaara's mind is clearly unstable, it can be concluded that his weakness is genjutsu. The wrong technique will drive him over the deep end and then everyone's screwed. Until he is fully able to sustain himself, I wouldn't recommend using him on a team. Of course, once he's fully IN control, that'll be a different matter.

Now for the All Madden Team

Strictly a fourman group.

Nara Shikamaru: His intelligence has been well documented. His thought for the lives of his comrades before the mission is likely to be very well looked upon. Though he had just been promoted to Chuunin, he was thrust with the responsibility of stopping the Sharingan falling into Orochimaru's hands. His Shadow Imitation has been used very effectively against those who would seem to have the upper hand.

Hyuuga Neji: He trusts in Shikamaru's judgements and inserts his two cents when needed. His nearly 360 degree binocular x-ray vision(how good is his hearing?) would have gotten him the spot by itself. The insight of his Byakugan is nearly flawless and would provide a very good long range spying tool. His gentle fist style of fighting would destroy those who scoff at open palmed attacks. Too, his new outlook on life has provided him with a more determined sense of duty.

TenTen: Though her style as of yet has been stictly kept to "pure shooter" (basketball term), her 100% target accuracy is definitely noteworthy. Her sure shot shooting coupled with Shikamaru's Shadow Imitaiton is sure to be deadly. Long range would be handled by her and the closer range would be handled, mostly, by the others, should that situation arise.

Aburame Shino: His level-headed thinking seems nearly on par with Shikamaru's. He doesn't hold back whatever the situation. He is seemingly able to understand his bugs, which would be very useful in spying operations. He'd be volitile in either long or close range fighting should it come to that.

Seems like a pretty damn good team to me.

imo:
shikamaru-intelligence and strat skills.
sasuke-leadership and power.
shino-invaluable method in spying plus he seems calm and cool in difficult and dire situations
hinata-insight, id rather have hinata rather than neiji attitude wise and teamwork
kabuto-medical skills and cleverness
yeah, pretty boring without naruto but i guess this would be the ultimate team

Gaara- His defense could prove to be very useful from ambushes from any sides

Neji- He could sense everything around him

Naruto- well....why not? He's amazing...

Lee- Taijustsu specialist, He and Neji could tear someone up if they worked together

Temari- She could provide ranged attacks, and she seems to do well in the air.

1: Shikamaru: He's just a 2 legged brain so you need him.

2: Healed Kimmimaro: If he doesn't have any illness, he's the ultimate genin with excessive offensive and defensive power.

3: Naruto: You need him and his gamabunta/rasengan/kyuubi capacities.

4: Gaara: He's good to kill everyone left behind by Naruto

5: Chouji: If he gives some of his pills to everyone , they will be crazyyyy.

Don'T need Lee because kimmimaro is there.

Shikamaru - Strategy is more important than power

Naruto - Raw power and extremely clever

Sasuke - Sharingan is always a useful power, and he's just one talented guy

Neji - Simply because he can affect anyone very quickly if given an opening regardless of their level

Shino - Unpredictable. And just like Neji, his bugs can affect anyone regardless of level.

Let's see now:

- Shikamaru: I think its fairly well established that he's indispensible. Smarter than almost anyone and a good leader, too. Shadow techniques come in handy too, especially in this primarily non-offensive setup.

- Kabuto: Officially a genin, but of high-tier jounin power. His loyalty to Oro seems to me like a more general, professional reliability which would apply to whoever he worked for and I predict his eventual defection back to the leaf at some point. Medical skills and smarts would make him very useful.

- Temari: Powerful, clever mid to long range fighter. Has worked with Shikamaru, albeit briefly, would handle summoning, support fire and can keep Gaara in check better than most.

- Gaara: One-man artillery section and defensive powerhouse. seems to have calmed down a bit these days, and as such is, I think, a bit more open to teamwork.

- Neji: Important in this setup which lacks a bit in the close range department. Natural talent and bloodline allows him to take on dual roles of primary hand-to-hand fighter and long range reconnaisance.

While this team lacks in pure offensive power, it is what I consider to be the best team for espionage of all types. They can scout, gather information, quietly assassinate and infiltrate brilliantly and can more than hold their own if attacked outright. Splendid setup, I think.
