I recently re-watched the Soul Eater anime, and since then I'm constantly getting the 4th ending song stuck in my head: Abingdon Boys School - Strength
A recurring favorite though is Eiko Shimamiya's Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni |

Perfume's Dream Flight
Since I have posted in this thread links to many Japanese music videos of electronic music (techno, electro, house, electronica, etc.) - a field of music which the Japanese have helped pioneer and shape - I present a couple of my favorite songs by probably Japan's most popular electropop/technopop unit today, the three-member girl group Perfume (Nocchi, A-chan, Kashiyuka): a music video of "Dream Fighter"; and a May 2009 live performance at Tokyo's Yoyogi National Stadium of "NIGHT FLIGHT."
One of the musical descendants of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) - the influential Japanese band that pioneered the electropop/technopop genre during the late 1970s and early 1980s which now rules the contemporary international music scene - Perfume is produced by capsule DJ Nakata Yasutaka (中田 ヤスタカ). Moon Gazing On A Winter Night
Befitting Japanese sensibilities, Japanese house music is often characterized by flowing, dreamy, beautiful melodies.
Representative Japanese house music acts include FreeTEMPO, Studio Apartment, MAKAI, DJ KAWASAKI, and Jazztronik. One of my favorite artists in the lyrical Japanese house music style is the Hokkaido-based DJ known as DAISHI DANCE. Like fellow Japanese house DJ FreeTEMPO, DAISHI DANCE makes music which has that wistful, melancholy beauty which I find moving and touching. Here are two gorgeous pieces by DAISHI DANCE, "MOONRISE....MOONSET" and "WINTER NIGHT MELODIES": DAISHI DANCE / MOONRISE....MOONSET DAISHI DANCE / WINTER NIGHT MELODIES

And back to the Japanese artists who started it all...
Following up on Japan's Yellow Magic Orchestra: A Major Influence On Music Around The World...
The official music video for "Rydeen" by the Yellow Magic Orchestra from back in 1979 shows how much popular music today owes to Yellow Magic Orchestra. Yellow Magic Orchestra / Rydeen (1979) The three men who formed Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) - keyboardist Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本 龍一 Sakamoto Ryuuichi, born January 17, 1952), drummer Yukihiro Takahashi (高橋 幸宏 Takahashi Yukihiro, born June 6, 1952), and bassist/vocalist Haruomi Hosono (細野 晴臣 Hosono Haruomi, born July 9, 1947) - literally created the electronic dance music which holds so much sway over the world now. In 1980 they made an appearance on the popular American R&B dance show hosted by Don Cornelius, Soul Train. Academy Award winner, Grammy winner and Golden Globe winner Ryuichi Sakamoto in particular is a real Renaissance Man. Being a member of one popular music's most influential acts constitutes only a small part of a remarkable career: musician, actor, film composer, producer, etc. One of Ryuichi Sakamoto's most popular pieces is the heartachingly beautiful title track from his musical score for the 1983 Nagisa Oshima film, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, starring British rocker David Bowie, Tom Conti, Yuya Uchida, Takeshi "Beat" Kitano, and Sakamoto himself. Here are five versions of Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence," including three vocal versions, "Forbidden Colours," sung by David Sylvian and Sarah Brightman, respectively, and "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI," sung by Hikaru Utada: Ryuichi Sakamoto / Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Original Version) Ryuichi Sakamoto / Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (LIVE VERSION) David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto / Forbidden Colours Sarah Brightman / Forbidden Colours Hikaru Utada / Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI
