What is the Order of the Lodoss War Manga Series?

So I'm looking to purchase this manga maybe a set at a time.

But I keep on finding various sets

like the Chronicals of the Heroic Knight
The Grey Witch
The Lady of Pharis
Deedlit's Tales
And some Return to Lodoss island thing...

There's probally more but what's the exact order of this manga? Is there any other things I've missed?

I don't want to really start in the middle and have nothing make sense...

If you go by the order they were published it's (I think):

1)The Lady of Pharis
2)The Grey Witch
3)Deedlit's Tales
4)Chronicles of the Heroic Knight
Welcome to Lodoss Island is a gag comic with SD versions of the characters preforming small 4 panel skits.

There is a problem with this ordering however, Chonicles of the Heroic Knight alters and over writes much of the history from after the Hero's War established in the earlier manga series. In fact, each series takes advantage of and makes rather liberal alterations to the over all timeline of Lodoss Island.

So they're not really continuations of eachother...but kinda in the future of an 'alternate universe'? haha

It's more like selective acknowledgement of the histories of previous volumes. If you go looking for them and are anal about details, there's even contradictions within the chapters of each volume.

They're good stories, you just have to keep in mind that they overlap while at the same time they don't. The stories work in a broad sense, but many of the details aren't continuous from one series to another.
