No, I know what it is. I was suggesting it, but if I had better reading comprehension, I would have realized Auria had mentioned it right in the post before mine, lol! Durrr, I'm pretty dumb today. In my defense I had just woken up when I posted that. XD

I know about OpenOffice, that's what I used to open the readmes, had 0 problems. I'm just saying a random person is more likely to have a pdf viewer than an office suite, and it looks more neat, no margins, no spellcheck red underlines, etc... It's no big deal, people only open the readme once or twice, if at all. I just noticed it and though it'd be nice to drop a suggestion *shrug* |

Well there are many other options. If that's about program availability then a readme in html format is even better. Who doesn't have a browser? You can't even download the patch if you don't.
An alternative to doc files is also "rtf", those can be read by wordpad.

Ah, my mistake... I thought you were one of the Windows Vista/7 users running without Japanese locale.
But since you're the one with underscores at the end of some BGM filenames, I'm not sure what to suggest. Maybe it's a later repressing of Episode 5? What is the title of the DVD? Uncle Mion

Just to clarify (instead of going through 9999999 different posts about it.) Is there anything extra/different that you have to do in order to install Umineko on Windows 7? Because my friend has had some trouble installing it on her new laptop. She says that when the installer (the little window that loads all the files) gets to a certain point, it freezes and doesn't continue (even after leaving it running all night.) I'm going over to her house today to help her and watch Gurren Lagann and I want to have a little info about what the problem might be beforehand. Thank you^^

I just explored the CD and copied all files over to the install folder, downloaded the WH patch to the same folder and then, it worked fine. |

"fullsrc" -> "" (i.e. the root of the folder you are copying to. All the other folders should be copied directly) "BGM" -> "BGM" "BGM0" -> "BGM0" (Episode 6 only) "BGM2" -> "BGM2" (Episode 6 only) "movie" -> "movie" "ME" -> "ME" "screenshot" -> "screenshot" "SE" -> "SE" "sys_se" -> "sys_se" This should guarantee that all files from the DVD remain intact before you copy the WH patch over. Also, in Windows 7, you can try running onscripter-en.exe in Windows XP SP3 Compatibility Mode to make it work.

I am happy to report that, on my new Windows 7 computer, Umineko 1-4 with the Witch Hunt patch runs fine in U.S. locale with XP compatibility! Thanks so much to everyone who tried to help me before. I guess that other computer was just weird.

Aww, the Chinese fanbase is really nice, aren't they? A pleasure to meet them.
In other news, here's an EP4 "typo" that you guys probably already know about Spoiler for ep4:
Well, correct way of spelling it, but not the way you guys usually translate it, right? |

Is there any news on when the EP5 patch compatible with EP6 will come out? I don't mean to nag -- because I know you all have lives and a lot of work to do with the system changes -- but I was just checking in because I'm close to finishing EP4 and there's been no news for two weeks or so.
