Music/Song Identification-may I post song samples (under 30s)

In Hydrogenaudio.org they do

Quote:
Acceptable content includes freely and legally distributable data of the following types: audio programs, audio samples (under 30 second clips), misc. audio related data, or other utilities which are immediately relevant to the Hydrogenaudio.org community.
and they are really strict about copyright and privacy, so may I post song sampels under 30s for identifying purpose? (my googling skill sux in this case, can't find any legal document that regulates the 30s song samples law...

At this point in time I would say that as long as you host the clip on your own site (i.e. no hotlinking and no linking to sites which contain full tracks or OSTs), then it might be OK.

It rather depends on how often people make such posts because if it causes to much hassle checking out each clip then chances are we would no longer allow them. So, unless someone points out an obvious reason not to, I would say it's OK.
