I thought it was awesome how Yuri had a mind strong enough to beat his Hypnosis. She knew that what she was seeing wasn't real and beat it, then Otonashi knocked him away anyway.

I was talking about this with someone else and apparently this world is some transition to remember last thing before death and to acknowledge what you lost and wished to do....like the last disappeared person.....she wanted to sing and so proceeded to rest in peace once she found it.

Hey there is nothing wrong with BL if you have a open mind but I think they should = it to with yuri. Also you missed out on some fan service that they miserably failed with Yui but did somewhat of a nice job with Yuri......will post a link to a GIF about that soon.

First half of the ep was great, the second half would've been better if they had all fought instead of exposition ho'd. Points for Moengel though.

THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE

Spoiler for summary:

So things start off with SSS trying to make themselves low profile by having less aggressive missions. Otonashi joins Tenshi for some (rule-breaking) early lunch and gets detention for it. He then finds out that the New Prez is a violent bastard and "she needs Tenshi's help", though indirectly. SSS suffers a painful defeat and Naoi gloats on having his personal godmode moment, only to be thwarted by Otonashi.

Spoiler for thoughts:

First of all, if I would look at the entire plot of the episode, I would say that the first part can be taken out without any drawbacks to the story, except for the two-way radio Otonashi gives.

Naoi suffers from little plot development because of Angel Beats!'s constraints on themes (which should go from funny to serious) and is revealed to be a conch with poisonous thorn, dangerous at first glance, but can be excessively soft inside.

I think Naoi just wanted someone who would say "good job" to him as Ayato.

This episode also reveals some stuff here: any normal human can augment reality based on their experiences (what he means with "becoming a God").

Well, Otonashi can accept Naoi as himself, or Ayato. Otonashi could accept Yuri, as well as Tenshi (Tachibana). That's his character, and he might be a savior of this world.

I just wish they could've seperated this into two parts so it didn't seem so abrupt.

I thought the Naoi/Otonashi event in 2nd half of ep 6 become too sudden just because the scrip of Jun Maeda was shorten due to the time of the show...

Well in that case I guess Maeda Jun just had too big a vision for the limits of the series, which really emphasizes the big differences between writing for a Visual Novel and writing for an Anime.

Honestly, the events in this episode has enough material for 3 episodes.
Plus, the flaws of having a funny side and a serious side in one episode will start to haunt Jun Maeda right now as he can't possibly pull it off all the time.
