I was looking for an introduction thread but could not find one. Fortunately the link was in the welcoming private message.
I'm empathy, a pseudonym I use for all my online interactions. I'm 24 year old female living in England - not far from London. I have a real passionate interest in world cinema, amassing quite an impressive collection - but anime is a genre I have only started to explore over the past few years. Already I have watched some amazing series and films, which further piques my interest and my passion for it. I just can't seem to get enough of it I find myself continuously searching out new genres and titles. Already I have been introduced to some absolute classics by reading other member's suggestions on this forum - so thank you kindly there

Hello, Anime Suki Forum community. I was introduced to anime when I was very young when my mother rented me Cartoon videos from the local Mom and pop video Cassette rental stores near my home where I grew up. Cartoons such as Battle of the Planets, Warriors of the Wind ( Nausicaa stripped down), the Last Unicorn, Danger Mouse etc...
I started to read Manga in elementary school when I encountered a Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind graphic novel by Viz Comics in a local comic book store. I remember reading manga such as Pineapple Army, Appleseed, Dominion Tank police, Grey, Golgo 13, and Akira. Some Manga was forbidden for me by my Mom such as Lone Wolf and Cub, my mom thought it was too violent. I did watch Robotech when it aired on my local TV channel, thank you Carl Macek and Rebba West. In High School I started to watch Anime, although it was limited to Streamline and U.S. Reneditions at first then all of a sudden a lot of anime companies started up like Animiego, Manga, A.D. Vision, etc.. Used to save my lunch money and buy a video from Sun Coast video store. Back then if you wanted Ranma 1/2 subbed you were looking to spend over thirty dollars for two episodes ![]() Went to my first Anime Expo 95. In College I saw some more Anime, usually what my friends liked. I also completed my set of Nausicca of the Valley of wind graphic novels from Viz Comics, which has really been the only thing I seriously collected in my life. My tastes in anime vary. I like a lot of the Ghibli stuff. I like Anime such as Armor Tropper Votoms. I also like the weird stuff like Ping Pong Club, and Detroit Metal City. My friend got me into watching Azumanga Diaoh, Touch, Maison Ikkoku and YKK, thanks Mark. I think that is it for my intro, glad to be here. Last edited by BillardFriend; 2010-05-19 at 10:20. Although I'm no where new to the internet, I hadn't discovered this forum/site yet. Yeah, it's sad I suppose. Seems like a really interesting place and a lively community too. I... don't know how I missed this.
![]() Well, here's my introduction: My very first anime was Digimon, I was 5 I think and I'm pretty happy about that. I was introduced to Pokemon afterwards. I have seen some of the classics like Gundam and Sailor Moon though. However, my interest in anime didn't start until I watched Inuyasha a few years later. Then I discovered a bunch of other titles like Naruto and Full Metal Panic and got into the storylines and such. Manga was a little odd. I do respect it now of course and dream of writing/drawing my own. Thinking back, I had always been fascinated by anime characters in general though (at first sight) and I'm glad to have discovered 'em. Now, I'm definitely excited to see what anime will become in the future. |

Name's Zeyroth, and i'm here to say that i'm new here. Well, i wouldn't be posting here if i wasn't, would i?
Yea well, as you can see, i'm a big fan of Kazama from the anime Hakuouki. I'm by no means a newbie to animes/mangas, and have recently decided to finally join in the forum community. I mean, just watching and reading by myself isn't all that fun. I just happened to chance upon this site, and decided to join on a whim ;D & just in case you're wondering, nope, Zeyroth's isn't my real name. Here's me looking forward in putting an end to my lonesome otaku life. -Zey. |
