zomg so many characters introduced, is what I was thinking for most of first ep, but since not much was happening that's all I needed to think.

My question for the episode is, what was she gonna do to that meteor with her sword?

I had no hopes for this show, but the high sugar level was amazingly enjoyable. It was like wandering through a beautiful candy-floss forest.

Nice first episode. They paced things well enough that all the character introductions worked, and I could keep the characters separate in my mind.

I got flashes of ARIA and K-On and Little Snow Fairy Sugar, to name only a few. Moeee.

The voices were just serviceable, but Koyama Kimiko (Carina) can really do her thing, and I always like to see Kadowaki Mai (Minette) getting work. And I thought Okamoto Nobuhiko's voice worked again (Layfon in Regios, Makoto in Yumeiro Patissiere, Usui in Kaichou wa Maid-sama)

A pleasant looking series with pretty girls that has a fun first episode. Works for me. I especially like the scenes that played during the ending song. Also, I can't wait to see more of Minette in the second episode.

I liked this anime. Picked up.
May be one of the good surprises of the season.
The atmosphere is quite enjoyable.

Also, cute is good, not bad.

That was a pretty good kickoff: a nice, slow-paced intro to the setting & characters. Very light-hearted stuff.

Just watched first episode this morning and I'm very hyped. Sure there isn't much in the way of plot but that it's fine for me. The character design is lovely and the character interaction is fun to watch (my favorite so far is the twins They are hilarious).

Man, it's a been a while since I watch a visual novel adaption that is this fun to watch. Most of the times they have at least some parts that kinda boring to watch. Looks like my anime instinct is correct when i decide this series to be on primary on my watch list

Things I don't like.... that will be the main character's expression, With his continual blush and earrings... well, he just look not so manly to me. Well, on the other hand he does seem more interesting that most eroge protagonist so far.

It being from an eroge doesn't mean much. There are eroge which try to be cute as well.

Well, looking at Tears to Teara and Utawaremono, yes. However in this particula case it seems pretty obvious, wich everyone wishing to be his "bride" (mother including) and clear harem (in litteral meaning, i wonder if the game had harem ending) setting.

Its like if Sengoku Rance was made into anime, and people would speculate what kind of platonic relationship hes in with every female character he mets..

... I think there's a difference between Sengoku Rance and this, especially since Shukufuku no Campanella has an All-Ages version. I doubt that's something that Sengoku Rance can pull off without taking out a third of the content in the game.

Plus, Tears to Tiara and Utawaremono had both of their main characters in a harem setting. Looking at Windmill's/Getchu's pages, I get the impression that the game tries to be cute more than anything else. I don't know; it doesn't seem obvious to me, since the things you said apply to all harems.

Not that it matters, in this fantasy world, but 16+16=32? There are times and places in the history of the world where most women got married at 15. And the beautiful young woman in my avatar is 30 (Endou Aya).

You're definitely reading too much into things simply because it's an eroge. This is first and foremost a comedy, and all of the "harem" aspects of this show are definitely being played up for laughs (especially things like his mother ). There is no "harem end" in the game; all of the main romance paths are separate and played rather cleanly, though the romance, like everything else, is sugary-sweet and over-the-top. It's what they'd call a "moege". I guess if you want another reference, think maybe Nanatsuiro Drops (though this is a comedy, and that one was a bit more serious).

God this sucked. Comedy animes have to try very hard to make their jokes appealing to someone who actually has a brain, and this anime didn't try at all. Stupid obvious harem, dry as desert jokes, plot thinner than the paper it was written on.

It started off with various muscles in my face twitching. It only got worse. This show does indeed seem to do strange things to my expression...

In spite of the silent rages I endured I still feel like watching the next episode though. What's up with that?

I read eroge habitually and I can tell you that the script in these things are worse than most anime you could find. A stupid obvious harem is exactly what the intended audience wants. As outsiders, we have to merely accept that about 50,000-100,000 very very strange people in Japan watch this show. It is not a show intended for anyone outside of those handful of people. And even as a production from a bunch of malnutritioned staff and poverty-striken key animators, the pacing of episode 01 was actually pretty good. So for an eroge adaptation, it is already superior. You have to see it all in perspective. It's not the next Studio 4c or Ghibli.
