Based on those covers(the art is pretty good too), I'm hopeful for a happy ending but the more important factor is whether it's well-written.

Not even close, dude, ANOT is the last published novel up to this point. After COMO is Burning One Man Force, then it's Tsudou Make My Day, and only after that comes ANOT.
BOMF was translated until chapter 3 by Ravyn / Phoenix, and the rest are raw-translated by shutazen. Try googling these words and you should be able to find what you are looking for.

And no, it hasn't always been like this, it has only been like this once, "The end of day by day" was the only other novel split in two parts.
