Can't say I didn't expect this. Hirano was cast as Shinobu for Bakemonogatari but she didn't get a single line so it was evident that something was up.

No Hitagi though. But yesssss Shinobu.

I am also in for wanting Aya to voice her for this, though I am also hoping they have Aya sing a theme for it since all the other VAs have for their character's arcs, of course preferable something where she sings like she does in Harmonia Vita, and not her Haruhi singing .

P.S. Really hope Shaft manages to do it in a timely manner this time .

As Fertygo threw out on the page before, could this be a movie? I personally doubt it, since SHAFT doesn't seem to fond of doing movies. Even though it would offer some pretty entertaining possibilities.
Knowing SHAFT, it's most likely going to be an OVA... though that would be a pretty long one. Or maybe they'll somehow extend the plot to last a full season. Can't say I'd be too excited for that though.

She never even talked in Bakemonogatari, so I can't really say Aya fits or not. All up for it though~

Yay, I thought I'd have to wait two years to get my JPN skills high enough to waddle through Nisio Isin's sea of words. But please, please, whoever does this, don't insert a million delays; just don't air it until you've got at least most of it done, and that includes the OPs if they'll differ.

Yes, yes, yes!!! This is some great news. And from the brief clips in Bake, the action is going to be crazy.

Oh, and put add me into the pro-Aya camp.

I have no problem with She-of-the-SanCon-Hate. As a voice actress, she is quite skilled. That said, I don't know how well she'll fit the character. Kiss-Shot is a bit more mature than other characters she's had success with, and frankly, she was already deepening her voice for Konata and Haruhi, neither of which has sufficient gravitas... There's also the question of how much baggage she'll be carrying around...

We'll see... If she pulls a Lohan, or just quits the voice biz, at least they won't have to worry about the voice not matching the one in Bake (since there wasn't one).

I think a lot of the Shinobu fans are going to am disappoint, though... Impression I got is that the character's going to be decidedly less loli than she was in the previous series for pretty much the entire story (doesn't Ararararagi-kun not even see the loli form until the first ep of Bake?). And since being cute and loli (and sitting quietly in shadows thinking up inventive underwear) was about the only thing going for her before, aging up is going to upset some people... (I like dangos on my chicks, so I'm fine with it)

If they do end up making a movie out of it, who wants to lay money that they'll announce a week before release date that they're not through yet...? ^_^

The voice she does in her public appearances isn't her real voice. It's clearly an act, as no human being can have a voice as annoyingly fake and cutesy as that.

Furthermore, you haven't seen Dragonaut, have you? Although it was mentioned with some vitriol earlier in this thread, the voice Hirano did for Garnet McLane is pretty much how I imagine Kiss-Shot would sound. It's not exactly a BAD voice, either.

It's certainly not good either. lets be real, you like that voice because it's Hirano or do you actually think it's good? I'm a massive Noto fan but I'm not going to lie and pretend her young male voice in Kanonkon was anywhere near good. In fact I thought it was so bad I hope she never tries to voice a young male character ever again.

When I look @ Kiss Shot I think Romi, Ohara, Inoue, Minagawa, definitely not Hirano's Garnet.

I couldn't even get throught the second episode, it was so generic and boring... Not even Yuki-and-Itsuki-as-leads (remember when this aired) or the gratuitous nudity later on (that made Kanokon boobs look realistic) could churn my interest.

Hopefully. We do get to see her during the quick flashback of eps. 1, after all.
